About Galaxy Cyclone Braiger Blu-ray

Galaxy Cyclone Braiger Blu-ray contains episodes 1-39 of the anime directed by Takao Yotsuji, all in standard definition on a Blu-ray disc.

CALL THEM AND THEY WILL COME AT LIGHT SPEED...

In the year 2111, humanity has colonized the Solar System in earnest, but unfortunately, criminal syndicates called Connections often dominate the planets. When the police are overwhelmed and the Earth Federation government is ineffective, if not corrupt, only Cosmo Rangers J9 can protect the average citizens of the Solar System. J9 is a group of mercenaries in the asteroid belt, but they only fight for what’s right, with the help of their giant robot, Braiger. Even as Isaac (the brains), Kido (the marksman), Bowie (the pilot), and Omachi (the bomber) grow as a team, Khamen Khamen, the head of the Nubia Connection, rises above the other criminal organizations and enacts a plan that will devastate the Solar System and murder the majority of the human race.Inspired by samurai TV dramas, this super robot mecha anime is the first series of the J9 trilogy.

J9! J9!

by -

A surprisingly obscure pick from Discotek much to the delight of mecha fans. Galaxy Cyclone Braiger, the first in the early 80s "J9 series" followed by Baxinger and Sasuraiger is an exciting space adventure series about the J9 team. A group of space mercenaries bringing justice to the seediest outlaws in the cosmos with their space hotrod that turns into a jet that turns into a robot. For fans old and new of the mecha genre this is definitely something new(well new to us in the west) that may have gone under our radars.

Tremble before J9!

by -

Galaxy Cyclone Braiger is a groovy mecha series from the eighties with a likeable cast of characters. The Blu Ray itself comes with one of those snazzy cardboard covers that displays the art you see here on RightStuf, but the sleeve itself has a different design on it. Even the inside of the Blu Ray has graphics on it. The physical Blu Ray has a lot of charm to it that'll look good in any collection. But anyway, the show itself is about the J9 who act as mercenaries preserving peace within the solar system. Each member of J9 is memorable, and each character has an interesting backstory that is explored throughout the series. Most of the time Galaxy Cyclone Braiger is a villain of the week type show, but towards the end the Nubia Connection appears which is the main threat that the J9 crew will fight. Overall, this series has a lot of charm to it and if you like 80s anime you will like this one too.
