A young yakuza boss has a sexy encounter with his wild side when his family’s dirty business becomes personal.

Just look at the cover, bow chicka wow wow!!

There wasn't much of a synapse to get me interested in the book, it was the cover. But after getting the manga and reading it, the author has given us a great storyline with wonderful characters to love and hate equally. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars was because you get the feeling that something is missing when they author introduces us to the mystery boss who has a macabre interest in Tatsuyuki. However, that story will be coming out later from the mangaka in 2020.

Consent is Key

I was skeptical going into this because lately my manga choices have been dissapointing me. This one was different!

I initially bought it for the cover, I like the character designs. But the story is great! The art lives up to expectation too (the cover wont fool you, the art stays top notch throughout the whole volume). Though the love bond comes on unrealistically quickly the story, art, and character development make up for it.
The key that makes this yaoi better than majority of the rest is consent! There is no nonconsensual sex.

Scarlet Beriko has become one of my new favorites. Be sure to check out "Jealousy" and "Jackass" as well!

Scarlet Beriko has done it again!

My one friend is a Scarlet Beriko fan and told me to get into her work. I have also read Jack-Ass and absolutely loved its comical take in BL. This story also has some comedy, but takes a slight more serious storyline. I LOVED IT. I'm pleased with who she has as the top and the bottom in the relationship. I wish there was more to this! But it's unfortunately a 1-volume and done deal. Though I saw that "Jealousy" by her is a spin-off. So I'll definitely be getting that!

A really good read.

This is a good read. The plot was well paced and the art is pleasing to the eye. I enjoyed a bit of humour while reading this that balanced the heavier scenes in the story.

Scarlet Beriko doesn't disappoint.

I bought this book because I was enamored by the author's other work, Jackass, which may be my favorite yaoi one shot. While I think that is the better of the two, this is still a fantastic read.

Part of the reason Jackass was so good was because it largely eschewed yaoi tropes, so I had hoped the same here, but this is decidedly more trope-y. However, tropes are not a bad thing in the right hands, and to that end the story on display here is still excellent. It's a much darker book than Jackass on a thematic level (not entirely surprising, given the yakuza element), but it still has a lot of heart, and our central couple is just as easy to root for. My main critique is that it almost starts in medias res, as it were, meaning that if you were hoping for much more clarity on the masseur mentioned on the back cover, too bad.

Amazing art and great story line!!

This manga is absolutely amazing! I am a big fan of their artwork and plan on buying any English volume that comes out from this artist. The story is interesting and I am always a sucker for these types of stories that involve people from different lifestyles.

It has humor, angst, and so much more in it! It is unfortunate that it is only a one and done manga, but the pacing is pretty well written so I feel that any more would have been too much.
