About Flying Witch Blu-ray

Flying Witch contains episodes 1-12 of the anime directed by Katsushi Sakurabi.

Traditionally, when a witch turns 15, she's supposed to go out into the world alone to study magic. Makoto's parents, however, believe that their directionally-challenged daughter should get a high school degree. Instead of being sent out on her own, Makoto and her cat Chito find themselves traveling from the bustling city of Yokohama to Aomori Prefecture, where they'll stay with relatives until Makoto finishes school. It's going to be a big adjustment, and it only gets more complicated since "normal" people aren't supposed to know that witches exist… something that she tends to forget. In the meantime, Makoto, her cousins, and her new friends will have to work just a little harder to adapt to a whole new way of life when the new girl in town is a Flying Witch!

Ok, Good But Not Exceptional Series

I liked this show, it's quite interesting but suffers from inconsistent writing-one episode will be very good while the next one will be meh. The character design and the background art are well done. I'd try watching an episode or two before buying it to decide if you like it or not.

Just what I was looking for

I greatly enjoyed this. I saw the first episode at a convention and knew I had to own it. I was not disappointed as it was exactly the sort of supernatural slice of life I was looking for. The characters are interesting, human, and believable. My only regret is it's not longer.

Worthwhile for slice of life fans.

by

The show celebrates the everyday mundane things. Episodes may be about having a new visitor at the house, picking plants, or visiting a Cafe. The witch aspect makes the visitor or places they visit weirder versions. It's safe for all ages. There is little to no tension in the episodes and you may wonder if anything happened. But fans of this genre know these are character-driven shows with little plot and the show is more about cultivating a relaxing and fun atmosphere and it succeeds. I wasn't crazy about the dub actor for the MC although her acting wasnt the problem. The Japanese sub actor was more girlish-sounding of the two and that suited the MC much better imo. Nothing serious to complain about. This show delivers what fans of the genre enjoy. If slice of life is your thing, then give it a try. I'm glad I did.
