About Flowers of Evil Complete Manga Omnibus Volume 3
Flowers of Evil Complete volume 3 collects volumes 7-9 in an omnibus edition and features story and art by Shuzo Oshimi.
After the climactic incident during the festival, we are sent to a completely new locale, 3 years later. Takao and Nakamura have been forcibly separated. Takao is now living with his parents in the suburbs of the big city, and they mostly act like a normal, happy family. Takao is in a new school, and a typical middling student. And while he’s as awkward as ever, he’s made some friends. Even more intriguingly—Takao may have found a girl to open up to. As with Nakamura, this girl can see there’s more to Takao than meets the eye. But this time, she’s the one who reintroduces him to literature…

Slows down quite a bit, but still a decent read
by Daniel
Warning, the description up above and on the back of the book, kind of spoils what happens after the cliff hanger the previous book left on. So I would avoid that until a couple chapters in, cause for spoilers of course, and it doesn’t flat out say what’s happening, unless you really think about it. This book sort of slows down the action and pace quite a bit this volume and even though it kept me reading, it’s not as eventful and memorable as the previous two volumes. There were a few moments where I felt like all of this was gonna lead up to something bad or hectic, but then it just mellows out or just doesn’t do anything at all. So hopefully, the final volume will bring it all back, and tie everything together.
Awesome Omnibus from Vertical

I had put off finishing my collection of Flowers of Evil for too long it seems, for the single volumes are now out of print and I was a little hesitant to buy an omnibus because they can have several issues (thin paper or damaged/curved spines after a couple reads), but I was pleasantly surprised. This omnibus edition from Vertical is very well made, with clean pages and the flexibility to open the book all the way without damaging the spine. The only mild complaint I have is that the artwork shows onto the next page, but that's not abnormal. The omnibus editions are definitely worth buying for this series.
