About Fate/stay night Unlimited Blade Works Blu-ray

Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works is a movie telling an alternate version of the events in Fate/stay night.

Having spent the last ten years of his life studying under a mysterious sorcerer, Shiro Emiya has become a Magi, a sorcerer who has summoned a "Servant," a mystical female warrior of incredible power named Saber, to stand together in the ultimate test of sorcery and magic: the Holy Grail War. But Shiro's own feelings for Saber may conflict with their goal.

To win the contest means to take the risk of losing everything, even as he also begins to empathize with members of the rival battleteams. While seven teams will enter the battle, only one will leave, and the winners will receive the prize of the Grail itself and their greatest wish granted. Will that wish be worth the price Shiro must ultimately pay?

Ok film for a ok story

Fate stay night UBW the movie is essentially a collection of fights, but in my opinion this goes by faster than the series (after watching both) and keeps the weak story out for the movie. Even in the series with all episodes all it mostly did was focus on romance and Shirou/Rin relationship. This movie keeps all the filler moments out and just gives you the fight sequences and still has illogical endings to some fights. overall this is the cheaper version to own UBW and say you have it in the collection to complete it next to the fate zero blu rays.

Bad wrapped version of an story of 30 hours into 90 minutes movie

if you're not related or never heard of fate series before this is no the best way to start with, since these movie rushed and crammed a fantastic and exciting arc into a failed attempt of 90 minutes movie.

The pace is all over the place, sometimes you don't even know how characters got to places, nothing is explained, and there is no flow or consistency.

If you have read the visual novel, you will probably hate it the most, especially when there is a superior adaptation by ufotable you should watch instead.

Decent movie

The Blu-ray come in a standard plastic wrapped case. A reasonably good movie. I like the series better but I picked it up at a good price so it's a good buy!

UBW movie is Fate Fight-o-Rama!

Fate Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works the movie was exactly what a lot of Fate fans wanted at a certain point, fights fights fights. Taking the Unlimited Blade Works path (see what they did there?), I liken to to X:1999 the movie. This is a compressed version of the UBW path in about 90 mins. Mainly it's fights. Cut out the Holy Grail War and politics and you get this. And it's worth watching. Lots of fantastic scenes and fights are in here.

The video is a fantastic 1080p print, but does have some softness in scenes. Still well worth it in hd.
The video is a DTS-HD 5.1 audio that doesn't make you have to jack up the volume just to hear dialogue.
Unfortunately, there are no special features to speak of, so it is a barebones release.

Though this isn't as fleshed out as the UBW tv series that is way over-priced from Aniplex imo, the UBW film by Sentai is worth picking up if you are a Fate/Stay fan.

This is for completists -- everyone else, RENT!

Beautiful-looking picture but as mentioned elsewhere it's a narrative mess and confusing if you don't know the FSN storyline already. This was expanded into the FSN/UBW TV series which is a superior version of the storyline. That said, very good animation and the basics are still there. This is yet ANOTHER take on the FSN storyline but if you've played the original visual novel you knew that already!

Unlimited Deen Works

Best Fate movie, DEEN deserves some love tho, most people just bad mouth the studio for trying to animate something maybe too early, but hey, opinions are many.

If you loved the movie buy it, no complains on my end, only a solid love <3

Worth it when it cost 8 dollars

The beginning was so fast, the relationship between Rin and Shirou does not show any hints like Rin gets her face red at the beginning when they just barely know each other, the animation is the same as fate stay night, I do not know why the movie cover show that design if its not on the movie, the main menu is the simplest thing you will ever see, it just have English and Japanese language and that's it, the movie just focus on the lines between archer and shirou, illya appears just 1 minute in the whole movie.
