Fourteen years after third impact, Shinji Ikari awakens to a world he does not remember. He hasn't aged. Much of Earth is in ruins, Nerv has been dismantled, and people who he once protected have turned against him. Befriending the enigmatic Kaworu Nagisa, Shinji continues the fight against the angels and realizes the fighting is far from over, even when it could be against his former allies.
The characters' struggles continue amid the battles against the angels and each other, spiraling down to what could inevitably be the end of the world.

It's finally here!!!

After an almost 4 year wait, the DVD release of this film is here. The format of the packaging is extremely similar to 2.22 packaging. I like that it comes with all the trailer types that were used during the movie's promotion (specifically Utada's Sakura Nagashi TV Spot.)
Highly recommended if you've been collecting the EVA Rebuild series. I'd definitely buy it from here. It's cheaper here than on amazon. :) This is personally my favorite movie out of the rebuild series so far because it's the first film to fully have a new plot line... plus there's so much Kaworu. ^^
Definitely worth watching

There are conflicting reviews out there regarding this movie, so I figure I try help those who are thinking about getting this movie put those doubts to rest.
This movie is very good. This is more or less Shinji's personal story how he is desperately trying to do right right thing and, while doing so, cling onto the friendships that treasures so much. In this movie, we see Shinji struggling to grow as an individual despite all of the strife and heartbreak he faces.
This is why I loved this movie so. There is a bit of Shinji in all of us.
