Great release of a classic show

by -

This is one of the first shows that I watched that was a mecha anime.

The blu ray release is fantastic, the picture quality is crisp and sharp, but it’s worth noting that the show is in 4:3 ratio, instead of 16:9. This is understandable since the show was produced in 2005, and that’s typical of shows made back then. But, it doesn’t make the show worse, just something that you should be aware of.

A Wonderful Anime

After bingeing the whole show as soon as I got it, I have to say, one of my favorite animes without a doubt! When I bought it, I never watched it and it was just out curiosity. Many people talk about it being a fantastic anime and it is without a doubt FANTASTIC.

Still not as good as the hype

I recently got this title on the cheap, I dropped this series when it first came out back in 2005. I have heard enough people rave about it, so I gave it another go.

In short, the turnoffs about this series still stand, too much teen angst for my taste, sprinkle in some very unlikable main characters and presto! This might be more pronounced with the dub, as Renton's english VA started really grating after awhile.

Overall not a terrible series, it now does start to show it's age and some of the OP's and ED's have some horrible music. Art quality also drops considerably halfway through this series.. the blu-ray makes these mistakes really stand out.
