About Elfen Lied Steelbook Blu-ray

Elfen Lied contains anime episodes 1-13 and the OVA directed by Mamoru Kanbe housed in a Steelbook Case with a 4 Color O-Sleeve, 20 Page Booklet and Original Soundtrack.

Critics have described Elfen Lied as "weird," (Anime Planet), "surprisingly sadistic," (Gamers Edge), and "addictive"(Animesou). No wonder, when you consider what makes this series hum! Lucy, a beautiful young mutant, is bred by the military to be the ultimate weapon. Now, with government killers on her trail, the disposition of a five year old, and a hair trigger for ultraviolence, Lucy and her young friends must unravel the dark secret of her legacy before it's too late.

Pretty set, Wonderful anime

Very nice durable set with wonderful booklet, Elfen Lied is one of the best series I have watched and to finally have a very nice set makes me very happy. If you like Elfen Lied and nice blu rays get this set.

My take on Elfen Lied

by

Elfen Lied is one of my favorite anime. There's just not a lot out there that could even compare to it. From the nudity to the gore and everything in between, I love this show.
My few complaints are that it's expensive and the ost disk doesn't include the ed "Be Your Girl". I would recommend buying it when its on sale. Other than that it gets five stars from me.

Gorgeous and Heart Wrenching

Snagged this while it was on sale, but in my opinion it is worth the full price. Pictures do not do justice of the aesthetics of this steelbook design. The way the metallic gold coloring pops is stunning. While not my favorite steelbook, it is definitely Tier 1. The anime itself is also fantastic. The storyline is compelling, and you grow to deeply care about the characters. This one made me cry, kiddos. Definitely check it out!

A great show, albeit with some flaws for an older release

This is a show that first introduced me to Anime outside of the norm of DBZ, Zoids, Fullmetal Alchemist, etc. This was the first one that made me tear up and start looking for shows that made you care about the characters on an emotional level and a tragic, yet sometimes beautiful story. While the art and story don't really hold up compared to other more recent Anime (this did release in 2004), it still has a decent story that is unfortunately not as fleshed out as it should be. This is one of those shows that is in a lot of peoples memories, so nostalgia does play a factor as to how good it is. From a first-time viewer perspective, I would suggest any to either stream it or purchase the standard Blu-ray. I would say this edition of the show is either for your avid collector, or someone who watched the show and has good memories of it. Still, I feel that it was well worth the money I spent on it.
