Dragonar Academy Essentials contains episodes 1-12 of the anime directed by Shunsuke Tada.

Ash Blake is a nuisance to his fellow students at Ansullivan Dragonar Academy. He’s got the sacred star-brand that marks him as a future master of dragons, but his lack of a dragon companion and hot temper makes it more than a little difficult for him to play the part of the hero. That is, until his dragon awakens, and he’s finally partnered with a fierce, fire-breathing…cute girl?

Possible repackaging?

by -

It worked really well a series I’ve watched before only thing I thought was weird was how the two discs I received were labeled discs three and four so I feel like it might’ve been a repackaging from the save edition for the series, but overall it met my expectations in terms of being a good product in functioned with no negatives in my opinion

Pretty good but it needs more

I originally read all of the manga before going into this one and I gotta say, the anime adaptation is pretty decent. It follows the story quite well, with adding a bit more fan service to it, which can be a problem if you’re not a fan of it. But it doesn’t just focus on the fan service. It gets through quite a bit of the story, which is nice, but it does end with unanswered questions and it feels like a “you want more? Read the books,” kind of a show. And also by the end of it, I felt fine. I enjoyed for what it was, but it didn’t feel as grand/moving as the books did. Funimation did a good job with the dub. Pretty much all the characters sounded about what I had imagined they would sound like. There was one that was quite a ways off, but it didn’t ruin the rest of the show. The art style is colorful and a beaut to watch and the opening and ending themes are catchy. In all, Dragonar Academy seems like it just got started and hadn’t had much of a chance to bloom, but it’s still decent.
