Better than the second volume

by -

This volume actually picked things up and was actually, at least in my opinion, better than the second one. It introduced some new characters that will obviously play a significant role in the two upcoming volumes, both as protagonists and antagonists. It felt like the second one tried to ramp up the stakes and deal with bigger themes, while this one didn't do that so much as was more successful.

And once again the references back to the original games was a lot of fun to see, and the continued fleshing out of the Dragon Quest Monsters world is great. We actually got to see Dead Tree this time, which was a neat little bit of fanservice. Definitely recommend this volume if you've enjoyed the first two.
