One of the Better
by HannoX -
This is actually deserving of 4 1/2 stars, but half stars aren't allowed and I only give 5 stars to truly exceptional works. That said, this is one of the better and better written LNs I've read.
The heroine just wants to live a quiet, average life in her new world, but God's idea of average is different from hers, either from deliberately misinterpreting her request or because from His viewpoint humans and ancient dragons are much the same so He includes ancient dragons on the spectrum when He gives her "average" abilities. She still tries to hide her exceptional abilities, but continues to fail. The result is a very fun read.
The author also sometimes has a wicked, though understated, sense of humor. An example is when the heroine tries to make natto and soy sauce, but is forbidden to do so by the "spirits" because the fermentation process required is considered to be a biological weapon.
To sum up, I highly recommend you give AVERAGE ABILITIES a try.
Just Buy It

The previous reviewer gave it 4 stars as he could not give it the extra half star so I will. This is an excellent light novel, easy to read, interesting, fun and well written. It was one I bought on spec and it proved well worth the money. I read it three times in a two week period. Characters are good and there is a lot that can be done with this and I look forward to seeing how this plays out. There si a hook in the end that can be used to draw the story back to its point or origin and I hope to see this used in the future as i have a feeling the main character will have to return to her home. Overall an excellent first volume.
A blindsided surprise
by Kougen Takahara -
I sat down expecting to read a chapter and red through the whole book. The author had at least twice set up twists that leave you thinking, "oh, that totally just happened" but at the same time a believable sense. It left me caving the next book. For a light novel I give it my highest rating.
