Unbeknownst to the general public vampires are rampant in Tokyo. To control and contain them, the government has developed a program to track and treat rogue vamps who decide to pray on the public. But what happens when vampire and man come together in harmony and love? Will the public accept this or will they try to tear such partnerships apart.
Tsukasa, a college student, is rescued from an attack by a devil, one of many vampires that can blend in among the human population. Anzai, her savior, is a half-devil who exploits his supernatural gifts as a member of a shadowy police task force that specializes in devil-related crime in Tokyo. As Anzai continues to keep guard over Tsukasa, the two quickly forge a tentative bond—one that Anzai fears will test his iron-clad rule of never drinking human blood…

Very Good Start to a Series
by something526 -
This is a really great start to a series that I will be purchasing from now on. The art style is a little weak compared to the world it illustrates, but it is not as weak as older mangas or anything in that nature. There is romance in here so if you do not enjoy romance, steer away. There is some of the goriness of Tokyo Ghoul, however there are some things that are a little darker for the audiences.bI hope you will enjoy this as much as I did.
A really solid start. Themes of Tokyo Ghoul.

So far Devils Line starts with a pretty solid concept of a community of blood thirsty monsters disguising themselves in public. Even though there are horrible monsters that go crazy at the slightest sight of blood, our ( second) main character and his organization try to keep the murders to a minimum. Even reading the description, it does take/share a lot of themes from Tokyo Ghoul. It's honestly a pretty solid pick up (so far) if you are interested in that kind of genre and theme. I can tell that this series feels pretty dark so far, and would recommend checking out the first book to see if you like it.
WOW!

Once I started this one. I could not put it down. I was hooked right away!
Complex and compelling

I was so excited to find a new vampire series and this opening certainly doesn't disappoint. The story is interesting and full of action, it's not a simple "vampire love story" it's much more complex and compelling.
Once bitten...

I'm a sucker (pun intended) for a good vampire story! And this is certainly the start of a good vampire story. Ryo Hanada creates an engaging world where vampires are largely urban legend to the public at large, but a clear and present situation to be dealt with by government agencies and darker interests alike.
The difficulty I have with this series is the art. If you can overlook inconsistent work from panel to panel, no backgrounds so no real depth to the world, a general sameness of most male faces, and an over reliance on chibi panels plugged in way to frequently to highlight comedic moments, then you may find a story worth following.
There are a few cringe-worthy moments in this volume, but on the whole it's a fun read. I almost wish, however, that it had began life as a light novel. Take a chance! Recommended!
Looks like Twilight but is actually more JFK

This should be a trite vampire love story but it surprisingly ends up being more of a political thriller with sci-fi aspects and a truly impressive range of representation.
This is after reading the entire series. It's short enough to be manageable and gets pretty involved. For a series that at this point is over 5 years old, it has a really impressive range of queer representation and grappling with sexuality without getting too hung up on it? The political side of the story does require some focused reading, but it all pays off to be satisfyingly realistic all things considered. There's romance too, it's just layered with serious crime drama.
A great Vampire story

I am not a big vampire theme fan and never was, but this series were recommended to me so I decided to get it and read.
Honestly, I wasn't disappointed. The 1st volume is such a great start and I am very excited to collect the entire manga!
I read till 3rd vol yet and all I can say is if you like vampires, drama and some action as well as cute romantic interactions this is definitely worth a try. You won't be disappointed!
"I've had this dream so many times."

I wasn't sure what to expect going into this but I have heard great things about it. I'm glad I listened! I really enjoyed the story and build up in this volume. The brooding Anzai and the dark themes that surround him are balanced well by the innocent Tsukasa and her kindness. I appreciate how the author adds more dimension to the characters by showing many sides of them rather than focusing on specific qualities. For example, showing Anzai's humorous side along with his slightly dejected nature helped me connect with the character more. The art is also unique and certainly helps it stand out. Overall, this volume exceeded my expectations and can't wait to see what happens next!
