What makes a great man a great man? What made Yakumo Yakumo?

I enjoyed this book greatly, the character development was on par with any of the full fledged novels I have ever read. The story of how Yakumo became Yakumo, how Sukeroku became Sukeroku, and how together they grew both as men and as rakugoka was deeply touching. Despite having watched the anime the story presented within this volume while matching the anime almost beat for beat was still able to elicit an emotional response and somehow feel fresh. Well deserved 5/5
