Good comedy and camaraderie energizes in season two

by -

The battle at Mount Natagumo was simply a stunning visual story arc, and eventually leads to the revelation of the nine members of the Hashira...the top swordsmen/swordswomen of the Demon Slayer Corps.

I was pleased that the series takes on much humor and light-hearted approach from the aftermath of Mount Natagumo, as Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke revive at Shinobu Kocho's mansion. The rest, recovery, and rehabilitation of the trio involves Kiyo, Sumi, Nsho, Aoi, and Kanao in a laughable road-to-anxiety...or recovery for the trio, and sets up for the next story "The Mugen Train Arc" movie!

The chipboard box/character cards are again works of art, the booklet contains comments from the Director, Episode Directors, and Storyboard Artists. The English voice cast comments on episode 19, while the Japanese voice cast comments on episode 26. The three CDs are more fun, upbeat, and enjoyable as the music coincides with the rehab/comedy elements of season two. Enjoy!

Above and beyond directing

by -

This half of the season contains the arc that many went wild over when it first aired. I have to say that it is the best arc of the first season, not to say that the other ones are lacking. Just that they went above and beyond in the directing and storytelling, especially in the episode Hinokami.

The CGI or 3D animation this time around was more subtle and better implemented. Such as the water in rivers or the blood in the last episode.

The soundtrack disks are once again a little over an hour long each. They are pleasant and it’s nice to enjoy the music without having to watch the anime itself.

The artwork on the sturdy box and disk cases are amazing and one of the things I enjoy when getting these limited editions. Like the first set, this one contains the art cards and the booklet explaining episodes and characters. It’s good that we get these little add-ons considering one is paying top dollar for this.

Overall, this is a good setup for more of the series to come.
