About Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction Manga Volume 1

Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction manga volume 1 features story and art by Inio Asano.

It’s just an everyday apocalypse.

Three years ago the aliens invaded Tokyo. Nothing was ever the same again.

But after a while, even impending doom starts to feel ordinary.

The Japanese Self Defense Forces are still looking for a way to combat the looming alien threat three years after the invasion, but so far conventional weapons have had no effect on the mothership. Maybe it’s time to try something unconventional. Meanwhile, Kadode Koyama is in high school. She and her best friend avidly track the aliens’ movements on social media and less enthusiastically study for college entrance exams. When the end of the world is overhead, you learn to take things one step at a time.

Very Unique!

by -

Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction is an extremely unique series that has quite a bit going for it. As expected of author Inio Asano, the art is fantastic with each panel being filled to the brim with tiny details which brings the world of this series to life. The characters are also incredibly expressive both in how they are drawn and how they speak to one another. Speaking of dialogue, the story of this series is a unique blend of both the slice of life and science fiction genre which gives the series both a feeling of familiarity and foreignness. If you're a fan of slice of life and are up for something a bit different, I highly recommend that you give this series a shot!

Value your friends and bonds because in an apocalypse, what else do you have to cherish.

This starts off with a group of girls in Tokyo where a giant alien mothership is floating above the city. They live their lives as normally as teenage girls can in such a situation. We get to know the mc and her friends, family, school life, and what the situation is like in Japan and the world politically and socially due to the presence of the mothership.

The series starts like a slowly paced slice of life, the mc and her besties' humor is kind of dark, the duo's contrasting personalities make for a very interesting dynamic as they live under the shadow of a stagnant alien invasion. I would describe it best as an indie style satire comedy, with an impending doom lurking over everyone's head as the MC mundanely continues her life because... what else can they do?

It's funny and suspenseful, a very unique blend of slice of life and science fiction.

Seems to be another hit from InioAsano the Goat

Finally got to dive into this series. The art is fantastic. The paneling and double spreads are really good. The characters feel like real ppl from the way they talk and feel. That mushroom character was cool i want a lil figurine now lol compared to some other manga where most of the art is focused on the characters and backgrounds tend to be a little bland, Inio Asanos backgrounds are highly detailed.
