A Date in order to save the world

by -

Date A Live adapts the first 4 novels of Koushi Tachibana's light novel series of the same name.

At the centre of the series is the protagonist Itsuka Shidou who is tasked with the aforementioned role of dating invading entities. This of course leads to him quickly developing a harem of various diverse personalities, for which Shidou has his own personal radio-based command centre assisting him from afar.

The artwork for the series is particularly nice, with cute character designs that move fluidly when required; characters are also amusingly expressive in accordance with their personalities.

This S.A.V.E version does not include the OVA "Date A Live: Date to Date" but is a cheap and nice option for everyone. Overall, this is an entertaining show that applies a different twist to the harem genre and doesn't take itself at all seriously.

Different packaging, same content, cheaper price = happy fan

To clear up any confusion about this release; this version DOES INCLUDE the OVA episode. While the site only list episodes 1-12, the run-time of 325 min. is correct. Aside from the packaging the content is the same as the first release. Overall, Date A Live is a fun show that's bound to get a laugh or two out of you.

Pretty Good

I held off buying this, even after the Save Edition came out (question there as mentioned was did this contain the OVA) but eventually I picked it up. It was worth the effort as it is fun and entertaining but not outstanding enough to make me rush out and buy the second season, though I will eventually. However if you are looking for something lighter and more entertaining this is worth picking up.

OVAs Included

First I just wanted to say thanks to Jay for his review and for saving me some money. I will confirm again that this DOES include the OVA, on both the DVD and Blu Ray discs.
