Not steller but not Bad

by

Visually this series again does very well... but the plot seems to falter..

I'm coming into this after just watching the 1st Season and it honestly feels like this series seems to stumble around abit in relation to plot progression. The first season seemed to have a very strong build up and ended on a cliff hanger..
2nd season focuses on introducing more Spirits and asking more questions rather then answering any of the ones left from the first season. I am hoping that the Date A Live movie actually answers some questions.. time will tell.

If you liked the first season.. then the 2nd season will probably be enjoyable... if you didn't like the first season.. then pass on this one.

Another Season of Intergalactic Harem

by

Don't let the star rating fool you, I love the show, and I'm really happy we finally got the English release for the second season. But, there is one HUGE glaring flaw. This is not the uncut version of the season. Other than that If you liked the first season you will not be disappointed with the next season. The story line is exceptional, the new characters makes the story exciting and comical. I'm glad that it was released on a Blu-ray and DVD combo pack.

One step back

Anime is ok, but compare to the first season, it feels like it took a step back. Personally World God Only Knows is better anime with similar themes.

Great follow up

by -

If you enjoyed the 1st season , you'll love this one!

It adds more depth too the existing characters from season 1 as well as introducing new spirits and enemies. It ended on a note where they left it open for a potential new season.
For an added bonuses it DOES include the OVA.

Loved this

I waited a while for the english release to the anime. Just as good as the first season in my eyes. My only real complaint is that this did not get a limited edition release. :( Other than that this anime is worth looking into if you liked the first season.

Nice now where is that movie or more stuff?

by -

Pretty good series overall but I do have to agree that some of the issues or stuff mention in season 1 was not all covered or season 2 felt like it was less darker than season 1. They kinda slowed it down a bit and gave some fan service or too much comedy and not enough of the main story. Definitely good for us date live fans though and a bargain in terms of price and value.

I Only paid 30$ with free shipping along with other funimation stuff. Compared to the japanese raw blurays they cost 70$ to 80 plus shipping and taxes for the standerd edtion (not the ones that come with boxes and extras that coast 100$) with only 2 to 3 episodes per bluray disc. Usually 12 epsides anime series take 7 to 8 bluray releases and never get a complete set release or mostly not at all. Video/audio quality is not quite or 100% the same as teh raw japanese blurays but very close to it(since funimation does use the raw japanese blurays as their source for encoding).

More Spirits, More saving them..and Inversion?!?

by -

Date A Live II doesn't disappoint! From twin Spirits, to a singing Spirit who has big trust issues, the "Nightmare" returns, DEM's evil agenda, despair spawns Inversion, to deepest wounds needing healing; what a show! There are moments that idle or the hurt is awful, but to make a nice guy hero greater than before...you need evil antagonists who don't appear to have a moral fiber in them. I mean, they head of DEM discusses torture in a tone used for saying, "What do you think of the sun and breeze today?" And AST thinks Spirits are bad? Behold the evil that is DEM's boss and finest wizard! I saw folks like that in my childhood nightmares...oh the nightmares have returned!

Just As Good As The Original

by -

I bought this side-by-side with the first season, so regardless of what I thought, I was still going to watch this. With that being said, I really enjoyed the second season, however, I still feel that the first season had a better beginning and opening in comparison to this season. Also, the cover of which you'll receive is not the one you see here but actually the cover you see when you click to see the video promoting this season. Overall, Date A Live II was another short but great season (with a better and tearjerking ova to boot) that I can't wait to watch the third season!

Better than you heard…

by -

Way better than I thought. I liked the 1st season, but had heard bad things about this one. That’s why they say never believe the internet…lol. Picks up where season 1 left off and keeps you interested until the end.
