77 minutes of meh

by -

I heard about this film online and it was advertised as a new martial arts film with a 77 minute single take action scene. It turned out the be 77 minutes of meh. The fight scenes do get better as the movie goes on, but it's not the best film I've seen. As for the blu-ray it's self, it's a blu-ray nothing crazy, new, or fancy. There isn't any special behind the scenes on it, but I bought it because I like the main actor Tak Sakaguchi, and own most of the movies he's in. Like I said I didn't really like the movie, and the blu-ray isn't anything special, but I still like Tak and will continue to buy and watch all his films.

Absolute Garbage

by

This is not a movie. Its a film student experiment. There is no real story, there is a short opening scene and short closing scene with actual acting but the entirety of the rest of the 'movie' is the supposed fight sequence. It is awful. The swordplay is very limited with no variety. The 400 samurai he fights are actually just about 20 guys who walk up, get killed, roll off screen, then run around to the back of the mob until its their turn to do it over again. That isn't an exaggeration, if you pay attention Musashi will kill the same actor like 5 or 6 times at some of the locations. Also, absolutely no realistic damage or blood. He kills dozens of guys while standing basically in the same spot over and over and there are never any bodies unless its during a walking scene where he is just walking to the next place where he will stand still for about 5 minutes. Do not bother with this pile of trash, its not even worth watching to say that you've seen it.
