About Comic Party Revolution Complete Series DVD SAVE Edition

This Comic Party Revolution Complete Series set contains episodes 1-13.

Kazuki, Taishi and all their crazy cohorts are back and getting into all kinds of misadventures. Manga and madness abound as these college students navigate the otaku subculture of doujinshi.

Life is a joke for this crew, but not every day can be a Comic Party. A break in the laughter spells trouble, and this gang of chuckle-heads passes the time with some hot springs action, a whacked out tennis tournament, and a camping trip that ends in a deadly duel! It's a good thing these manga-maniacs can depend on each other when things go from ridiculous to totally absurd!

Well, it's grown up a bit, but not in all the best places

First, if I could, I would be giving this a 3.5
After watching the first series, I knew that I would have to try the sequel. Luckily, it came up during a flash sale and I was able to jump right in.
And it was worth it for the sale price.
They made a lot of improvements. The art and effects are updated, the story has clearly moved into the future, and you can see that Kazuki's influence and skill has grown.
So why the lower score?
They made it into a dating game cut scene.
The original story had Kazuki discovering the joys of the Fan Comic world and working towards making his own mark upon it. This time. each episode is an opportunity for one of his NINE love interests to share the spotlight with him in some trope, be it survival games, a hot spring, or a case of mistaken identity. It had it's high and low points, but in my opinion the new direction badly muddied the storyline .
Honestly, I would have enjoyed a more focused, shorter OVA series instead of all the useless filler.

The Party Continues in a Future.

I was lucky to pick this up at a recent Convention for a good price. Comic Party R. was aired in Japan in 2005 & A.D. Vison manage to release it on DVD two years later. Mainly this story is about all the love interests girls that was associated with Kazuki Sendo including his friend Mizuki Takase. Each character is all grown up from Season 1 & the girls get their own episode doing different activities with everyone. The plot & story seem be okay but the opening and closing theme songs is excellent to listen. Too bad that Funimation decided not to renew the licensing rights on this anime series, better watch Comic Party instead since its available on DVD again.
