Ratings & Reviews
A Cool And Fun Series
*I own the previous original box set for this series by Nozomi/RightStuf*
Comic Party was a great and fun series about the fan comics industry in Japan, done in a fun, goofy and silly way. This has some good characters in it and I do love the name Yu Inagawa, LOL!!
The only down side is that it wasn't long enough.
A good old history lesson!

I first saw Comic Party many years ago, when they were playing it on the Anime Network. Sadly, they didn't show the entire season, and I ended up being unable to see what happened.
Flash forward quite a few years, and I finally snag it on a flash sale. And I have to say, I am not sorry I did.
This series takes us back to the time before CGI and big budget productions. It was a simpler time, when all sorts of things were being brought over as American anime preferences were still being researched. For those of you who enjoy a good slice of life with some fun characters thrown in, this is the show for you!
That being said, the show quality really has not aged well. The artwork is kind of basic and the effects are cheesy. Plus, DVD extras are a little weak. Therefore, I cannot give it full marks.
Great Story Right Till The End!
I've bought this series at a recent Convention (A sealed one from RightStuf). Comic Party is based on a Dating Game by Leaf in which it was adapted into a Manga & Anime. It aired in Japan in 2001, the main story is about a high school student named Kazuki Sendo who wants to become a Dojinshi Artist. He also has to face reality on the ups & downs for selling his work at the Annual Comiket in Tokyo. It is a very good story & I'm glad that Discotek Media is rereleasing this anime series again for us to enjoy, give it a try you won't regret it.
