This reprinted Collector's Edition has corrected audio.
In 2017, parts of the world are under the control of the Holy Britannian Empire. Japan is now known as Area 11, the proud people treated as lower class citizens. Lelouch Lamperouge was once a Britannian prince but when his mother was assassinated, he was left in Japan and thought to be dead. After getting caught up in a terrorist attack, he encounters a strange girl known as C.C., who grants him the power of Geass and the ability to command others.
With his newfound powers, Lelouch becomes Zero, a rebel leader for justice, and forms his own anti-government group. His goals are simple: get answers about his mother's murder and make a world that is worthy of his beloved little sister, Nunnally. Even with his Geass, Lelouch will encounter countless challenges. But nothing can prepare him to face his former best friend, Sazaku Kururugi, a Japanese citizen...and soldier of Britannia? The power of Geass: Is it a blessing...or a curse?

I command you to buy this!

Finally one of the greatest shows of all time comes out on BLU RAY! This is the best year of anime releases as Death Note and Code Geass get the HD treatment they deserve! Plus its funimation ( the best anime company in terms of pricing their anime) if this was aniplex you bet your wallet it would have been a 6 episodes release ranging from 70-90 bucks per release. THANK YOU FUNIMATION FOR BEING CONSUMER FRIENDLY!
For The Record: Jun Fukuyama Is Lelouch!
by Mr. Eclect
Simply put: the most satisfying series I've ever seen, anime or otherwise. The story is compelling, the characters-- major and minor--are all interesting, and the fusion of Clamp character design with Sunrise mech-spertise is marvelous. The mech battles are jaw-dropping.
I Strongly Urge Anyone To Watch 'Code Geass' in its original Japanese, as the level of voice-acting is several notches higher than the English dub; otherwise, you'll only get an approximation of just how great this series truly is (Disclaimer: this is the only series where I'm a hard-core 'sub-only-snob',so cut me some slack here...)
Point is, this is a Must-See/Must-Own--Buy It!
(Contains the most awkward scene in anime ever--see if you can find it...!)
So Damn Good, it's Hard to Keep the Review Concise.
[Obviously,] I'm heavily biased in favor of this anime.
No other anime provides the kind of thrills, plot twists, and chills that Code Geass presents with its dynamic, fast-paced storytelling.
Within the story of Code Geass, there isn't just one clear-cut "hero". A protagonist, yes, but many characters are actively trying to better the world, by different means and for varying reasons, which leads to conflict between them.
Of course, the protagonist is what really drives this series so here's 4 characteristics that identify him:
1) He's not omnipotent. In fact, he's just a strategist (albeit a damn good one); when it comes to actual combat, he visibly falls behind other soldiers.
2) He's idealistic, has an achievable end-goal that drives him.. and for this protagonist, the ends justify *ALL* means.
3) He makes full use of mind games and politics to turn things in his favor.
4) He's decisive, even when on the back foot.
Hope this piques your interest in the series; it's worth it.
Pretty Girls, Pretty Boys, Mechs, and MUCH MORE!!
by Genso -
This series is definitely worth the purchase you get 50 episodes, extras and the collectors set comes with a artbox, artcards, and 2 blu-Ray cases. The story to this series is very suspenseful as it starts to pick up and won't want to stop watching. Another great aspect to this series is the variety of characters to keep things interesting and move the story along with said the character designs were done by CLAMP. Also both English dub and Japanese language are very well done. In conclusion great series and good content BUY IT NOW!!!
A spectacular Anime
One of my favourite anime ever
Rating: Devide by Zero
Well, I haven't received this collector's edition yet, but Code Geass is by far my favorite anime of all time. If you like intellectual and thought provoking shows, this is for you. If you don't, it's still for you. It has plenty of action, and mechs, and suspense. Truly a great work.

There's not much more about Code Geass that hasn't been said already. Great animation, awesome action, lots of cool character designs and a complex story. A must-watch.
by JOHNNY -
First off, Code Geass is a fantastic series that provides a lot of entertainment through its portrayal of complex characters and layers of depth to which it keeps throwing at you twists and turns. That aside, I'll be focusing on the what the collector's edition offers. As with many Funimation releases, this series comes in a chipboard box that is a bit larger than standard limited edition releases as it contains the complete two season series in one compact package. Packaged with the box set is another smaller fold out box that holds the 16 art cards which are very good quality. The art cards are not flimsy like a postcard and are matte with numbers on the back indicating it is part of the 16 piece set. They are printed on very sturdy paper that is similar to collectible art prints. Overall, this set is well worth the value and will make a great addition to your collection!
The long wait is over !!!
This one I have been waiting for a long time. I bought the collection one DVD at a time, now I finally get the BluRay !! This is with out a doubt one of my favorite !!!
R2 Mono Dub Track
Audio issues with R2. Will not recommend this set until these issues are fixed by funimation.
A Quality Masterpeice
by Cordell Emde -
Code Geass is my personal favorite Anime of all time so when they re-released it for its anniversary I had to grab it. This isn't the most flashy special edition though I applaud the completeness of the set as it also includes all of the extra picture shows and a slew of special features. The quality of production is certainly there. If you're going to get the series you might as well get the special edition because getting both seasons separately is about $90 anyway.

I love this show! The story, characters and action is what makes this show epic. This is anime at its finest.
by Jay -
Thank God the email for this dropped tonight I was just about to buy it on eBay for like 200. Just saved me some money and I get the one anime that lets me feel the dark side while still doing good.
For those that do not know this one think of what would happen if Gundam and EVA had a baby. Minus the crying of shinji. You get this masterpiece.
NOW IN GLORIOUS MONO SOUND!
So, once AGAIN Funimation continues to prove itself to be the K-Mart of the anime industry. Yes, their releases are cheap... both in cost and quality. I'd say you get what you pay for, but that implies this is anywhere worth what it costs.
The entire second season has an audio problem where the english audio only plays in mono.
"HURR DURR BUT I ONLY LISENZ TO T3H JAPANEEZZZZ"
"It doesn't affect me so the problem doesn't exist" is an absolutely STUPID mentality. Time and time again Funimation messes up something fairly major each release, and somehow everyone seems to think it's perfectly okay. That kind of attitude only reinforces the practice of them releasing flawed, inferior products.
A Classic, Epic, Amazing Anime!
by K -
Even after 10 years this Anime is epic and amazing. If you've never watched / owned it, Lelouch commands you to BUY IT!!!!!!!
This amazing story of love, life, loss and revenge plus giant robots will blow you away like One Punch man does to his enemies.
Plus the best part of this is its Blu Ray & you get a nice Chipboard Box with Art Cards. Yah!!!!!!
great artwork, terrible quality assurance
by lukas -
excellent art and quality packaging, great to see a limited edition worthy of the name. however my copy had disks lose in the packaging when i opened it and half of the disks had scratches and/or fingerprints. i cant help but feel that funimation needs to find better places to get their disks printed and packaged if you can get a "new" product in this condition.
Awesome quality and great show, but...
by Bailey -
The quality on this set is fantastic, the box is nice at the art cards are a really nice weight, the reason for the 4 stars though is the fact the art cards come separate from the box is just lame . As for the show: if you looking into buying one of these I'd image you already know just how good it is.
by RAUL -
love this anime but i really love how you package my item. thank you!
Not A Collectors Edition, Half Assed Rlease
by Jim -
Really disappointed with the product, especially for the price. This isn't a collectors edition. This is Funimations typical LE release with literally a box of art cards shrink wrapped to the side of it... What it looks like happened they made this originally as a LE set & then after the production some genius was like "Hey guys! We can mark this bitch up 50$ more by throwing on a handful of art cards. And then everyone was like but we already produced these boxes, they can't fit art cards. And then they were like NAH! we'll just stick them in a flimsy cardboard box & plastic wrap that bitch to the outside of the box, no ones gonna mind! & everyone was like GENIUS!!!" I'm amazed by the amount of laziness that went into this for such an amazing title, they could of went all out and instead produced garbage. That being said the art cards are very nice & the case artwork as well but not even remotely worth the price tag, buy the standard edition. Don't support this lazy practice.
Get Replacement R2 Discs by 45 Days!
by Ethameshep -
I only have 1,000 characters, so here goes: in short, this release is a great value for a great series... except for the R2 audio.
Funimation's Return Policy states "If you do not submit a return request within 45 days of receipt of shipment, you will not be eligible for a refund or a replacement item". I emailed Funimation and was told they will have replacement discs in 6-8 weeks, and to provide the following information in order to receive replacements as soon as they are available.
- Full name and mailing address
- The FN number that’s located on the lower-side of the packaging (Which I found towards the bottom of the case spine)
- Proof of Purchase – either a copy of your receipt, or a photo that includes BOTH (1) your purchased Code Geass set & (2) your name and email address written on a piece of paper within the image. Or the code that appears after the “All Rights Reserved” line located on the back panel of your packaging that starts with “WP”.
Wonderful Anime Gets Collector's Edition
by James -
Wonderful Anime!!!! A tale of a banished prince's rebellion against his evil father. The Collector's Edition comes with collectable art cards that are a must have for any fan.
by Daniel -
THE CLASSIC RETURNS! I had been searching for this title for a while after Bandai pulled out of the US video market a while back and I FINALLY GOT IT !!! And when I got it in a recent sale, it was $40 less than Amazon!
A classic Anime that still good in my eye's.
by Adam -
Code Geass has been one of my favorite Anime for a long time. So when I got an email saying it was reduce price I jumped on it after making sure buying the two single volumes where not less expensive. If you enjoy the show and have the cash it's a definite buy.
I COMMAND YOU!
by Dennis -
Amazing collector's edition that comes with both seasons of Code Geass for a pretty good price. Also included are 16 beautiful looking art cards. Unfortunately, they were included in a separate holding case and not inside of the chipboard box that the disks are in.
Great deal for a great product
by Dalton -
This is a great deal and is worth it if you are a fan of the series, the art cards with it are very beautiful. Also comes in a nice container and is a great collection of a wonderful series.
