Clover Manga (Hardcover)
About Clover Manga (Hardcover)
Clover manga collects the entire series, volumes 1-4, presented in this hardcover edition and features story and art by CLAMP.
Sue was born into a bleak future, where the military keeps tight control over the few children born with psychic abilities—known as “clovers.” The clovers are forcibly tattooed with a symbol that indicates their potential power, and Sue is the only four-leaf clover in the world. Kept locked away in isolation her whole life, Sue longs to escape and get a taste of normal life. A voice in her mind guides her to the answer: an agent named Kazuhiko. Neither of them realize it, but Sue and Kazuhiko share a bond that spans decades…
CLAMP’s most daring science-fiction work, CLOVER’s art-deco cyberpunk aesthetic is just as fresh and exciting today as it was twenty years ago. Featuring the entire story in a newly-revised translation; remastered art and lettering; and a striking, embossed cover, this is a great collectible for CLAMP fans, and the perfect way to get to know CLOVER for the first time.

Truly Special
by CASSANDRA -
Did I really need another edition of CLOVER, with the same translation as other versions, that takes up more shelf-space, and includes the exact same extra images? Absolutely. This book is gorgeous! Its larger size gives even more pop to the empty space between panels and the stark contrast of black and white, along with making it easier to see details. The hardcover will hold up better to many, frequent re-reads The cover re-designs are unique.
If you like any of CLAMP's other works, this series is an easy recommendation. If you've never picked up another of their series before, be prepared for anything. Suu is a mysterious girl who has always lived alone. A man named Kazuhiko is tasked by the government to guide her wherever she wants to go. The only problem is she has no idea where that is! Oh, and they're being pursued by deadly enemies and Suu may be hiding a major secret. Read all 4 volumes, then read them again, then read them in a different order; repeat forever.
Beautiful edition

This edition is BEAUTIFUL!
In all honesty this is my first CLAMP title. I thought I'd start with a shorter series that has some buzz around it (even if it is not fully complete) and I loved the look of the hardcover. I have it proudly displayed on the top of my manga shelf.
How CLAMP used the empty space to tell the story just as much as the art is hauntingly gorgeous.
mechanical dystopia Elsewhere

Make room on your shelves, or invest in a brand new bookcase, because this baby needs s~p~a~c~e. Been saying "absolute unit" a lot recently, but this book is An Absolute Unit!
Sure, may miss the translucent overlay cover & fancy logo of the old release... but this hardcover is absolutely amazing! CLAMP really did something unique with the page layouts having so much emptiness & keeping the backgrounds minimal in many panels.
The larger page size was made for the intricately detailed art! All the clockwork-and-gears designs. Su's delicate mechanical wings really pop here. And yes, there are a few full-color illustration pages as well
Gorgeous hardcover edition

Did not expect the book to be oversized, but it was a pleasant surprise. It also has beautiful full-color art pages so I highly recommend this to anyone who is a fan of Clamp!
Absolutely Brilliant!

Beautiful story and gorgeous artwork to match, Clamp never disappoints. This story is impossible to put down once you start it, you get very drawn to the characters and I do believe that's very common for all of Clamp's works (at least in my opinion). If you enjoy Clamp, sci-fi stories, or just beautiful art then this is for you. I highly recommend this as well as any of Clamp's works.
Worth it!
