About City Hunter Classic Movies and TV Specials Collection Blu-ray

City Hunter Classic Movies and TV Specials Collection contains the movies .357 Magnum, Bay City Wars, and Million Dollar Conspiracy, and TV Specials The Secret Service, Goodbye My Sweetheart, and Death of the Vicious Criminal Ryo Saeba all directed by Kenji Kodama.

Ryo Saeba, the legendary City Hunter, is a first-class sweeper for hire, taking on jobs from protecting beautiful women to taking out bad guys permanently. He can be a private detective or hitman, whatever the case calls for, and it often requires the use of his superhuman marksmanship. But even so, Ryo can’t do it alone. His partner is Kaori Makimura, the younger sister of his murdered best friend. Kaori serves as his assistant, while also protecting their attractive clients from Ryo’s “mokkori” advances with her trusty supply of 100 ton hammers. Though they always appear to be at each other’s throats, the partners trust each other implicitly when the chips are down, and together they’ve solved various tough cases.

I Love This "CH" Movies and TV Special Set

by -

Great that Discotek packaged all 5-movies and the TV special in this two disc set. All the Japanese VAs have reprised their roles, but don't expect the same for the english cast, and in the TV Special, "Death of Vicious Criminal Ryo Saeba" is only subtitled in English anyway...which is why I've always stated best to watch CH subtitled.

There are some extras included as trailers and TV promos for each movie. Two Titles are changed with ".357 Magnum" now renamed "Magnum of Love & Fate" or "C.H. The Motion Picture" now renamed "Goodbye My Sweetheart". Kenji Kodama directed all of the films except for the TV Special, which was actually directed by Masaharu Okumaki.

Now, if only Discotek would license the 50 episode alternate universe saga of Ryo Saeba in "Angel Heart" then my collection of CH anime can actually said to be complete.
