About Chivalry of a Failed Knight Blu-ray

Chivalry of a Failed Knight the Complete Collection contains episodes 1-12.

Ikki Kurogane may have come from a long line of Blazers, people with the ability to create weapons or devices manifested from their souls, but as far as the Hagun Academy is concerned, he's been a major disappointment in the magical powers department. He is so disappointing, in fact, that he's earned the unfortunate nickname of the "Worst One".

However, things change for Ikki in the most surprising way when Princess Stella Vermillion, the most promising Rank-A Blazer to come along in many years, decides to transfer to Hagun. When she challenges him to a duel where the loser must obey the winner for the rest of their life, the last thing anyone expects is that the Worst One might prove to be a match for the Crimson Princess… and the unforeseen consequences will push the boundaries of society itself!

amazing story and good music

can't wait to see this anime show

Way Cool

Totally well written and composed. The artwork is first rate and the story line keeps you interested. As always, I'm interested in the overall appearance of the artwork. In this case it is wonderful. Colors are vibrant and detail is exceptional. This has first rate artwork. Well worth watching.

You have got to own this anime.

I have this anime in Japanese and love it. Can't wait to own this on bluray. The story is very well written. A story of the under dog who everyone thinks is the weakest as per his kick name (the worst one). He is looked down upon by his family and picked on by his fellow students. Than along comes the princess. From the first moment they meet his whole world changes.

From the great cast to the outstanding story you will love every eps of this anime. And the little sister who has got a bro crush going on you will love every minute of this anime. A must have for every true anime fan out there.

A very good series with awesome weapons and fighting skills as well as a great romance story. Great vocal cast to a great series.

The Ikki and Stella show

Had meant to do this right after watching it didn't and so to finally get it out of the way here goes I actually was pleasantly surprised by the anime wasn't sure what to expect going in and the 1st episode had me kinda thinking maybe this show could wait but it got better right away and I love the 2 main characters there's also some great fights along the way and a catchy op if I had any complaints it's that the show goes pretty fast at times and some of the other characters aren't as well developed but the two mains are now probably my favorite couple in anime

Failed Knight or Asterisk War?

This is a great show, I would probably say there is one filler episode but other than that the series is a great watch. Characters are great, the action is great and the animation is great. Others might compare this show to The Asterisk War (they are pretty much the same) but this one's character and relationships is way more likeable for me. I like both shows but this one is hands down the better of the two. Unlike other Anime show endings, guy gets the girl, no guessing, no kiss on the forehead, or hand holding endings ... you go Ikki!!

In My Top 3

Definitely one of my top anime. Visually amazing throughout, with a unique and catchy OP. Really enjoyed the story which managed to have all the good parts of the standard comedy harem romance without relying on the tropes constantly or falling into predictability. The characters are a lot of fun, especially our main pair.

First anime I bought rather than streaming, and it was definitely worth it.

Worth It

I had read the first chapter of the manga and decided I would check out the anime. I was delighted, the main characters are presented well, with their faults and strengths as well as their relationship. The side characters are not entirely ignored and are nicely tied in. Some animation sequences are odd and seemed under-produced or rushed at times, but these are non-essential and it doesn't hurt the show. The fight scenes and sequences are entertaining and don't reuse footage, not enough for me to remember anyway. There appears to be enough source material for another season (Light novels, manga is behind the anime) but the anime wraps up nicely and doesn't leave major questions. This is a good, well rounded "zero" to hero type show. Worth the purchase, if in doubt grab it on sale.

*This seemed to be a quick dub release, so the discs lack special features, but have text-less openings and endings, but nothing else. Also, the dub isn't bad, some odds moments, but overall good.

The Best Possible Anime Adaptation of a "Magic Battle High School" Series

by -

Chivalry is a fun, exciting series that is superbly directed and executed. My expectations were minimal for a "magic battle high school" anime, but this went beyond my expectations. While the world and settings are under-explored, the focus of the story is the characters, to the series' benefit. There is a strong romance (not a harem!!!) throughout, and the other side characters are given plenty of respect and focus. Chivalry's strongest quality is the direction; it's clear the production staff went all out in the animation and artistic choices. If only every light novel could be adapted with this much love and skill!

While not an "ecchi" show, there are some (sometimes tasteful) lewd scenes, including one in episode 2 that almost made me quit watching (i'm glad i stuck with it). The pacing is quite fast, and we don't learn much about the world or most of the characters, but we learn enough about the leads to care about their struggles, which was enough. I highly recommend this one.
