Great series
by Marcia -
First off, I loved and have reread this manga many times.
And I think they did a good job of adapting it for the anime.
Typically, not everything makes it into the retelling, and anime has a different order then the manga chapters, but it's still well done.
I prefer to watch my anime in the original language and subtitled, but the dubbed version is good too.
There's a lot of goodies here too, if you like that sort of thing.
It has a plastic slip cover, art book, all 13 episode and the special, 5 shorts, bloopers, and a clean opening and closing songs. (Weirdly you can only get the subtitled English opening song there).
I realize the price is off-putting, I mean I really, really love this series and that amount made me hesitant for some time. But in the end it was worth it to me.
Also the price is not The Right Stuf's fault, after they didn't set the original price. In fact at the time I bought this, they were (and I think still are) the least expensive price out there.
Numerous Ruthless Battle Action

I only purchased "Cells at Work" on sale; Otherwise, I wouldn't have ever bought this anime at $140. After watching, I must write that this is a very entertaining anime by David Production. Not only is the show educational but filled with fun/action as the story centers on 'Red Blood Cell AE3803' always lost while transporting CO2 to the lungs or O2 to the rest of the body. And yes, she also transports nutrients that look like submarine sandwiches too! The other is 'White Blood Cell U-1146' who shows no mercy to any viruses or bacteria that invades the body.
The 'Platelet Cells' are adorable, and the 'Killer T Cells' remind me of 'SWAT' team members in action. The bacteria all look like bug/monsters as U-1146 battles endlessly against all types of germs, bacteria, and viruses.
The op song is sung by the Japanese VA cast, while the ed song 'CheerS' is by ClariS and the booklet is full of character bios with detailed description of each cell's function.
