Mostly comedy with a promise of romance

by

It's pretty funny, and a bit cute. It also kind of enjoys its own silly-ness, like the delinquent-rival setup and other things that the main two deal with.

For some reason, I keep cracking up just from looking at Takebe's permanent scowl no matter what she's saying or doing. And I was right there with her during the whole chapter where Soramori tries to make her get involved on "Onestagram" (not a social media person, myself).

By volume's end, things are solidly in "comedy" territory and there's not much romance going on aside from Soramori's cute/awkward one-sided affection. So kinda looking forward to seeing if that part picks up a little later. But the comedy stands on its own merits.

Ultra adorable lighthearted romance

by -

The premise and set up are super unique and it's a nice contrast to the rest of the book which is a refreshing low-key romance. It's also good to read something where one of the characters has zero limerence toward the other, but clearly has come to love them, even if they don't necessarily recognize it themselves. Also, the art in this is super, super comfy, and Takebe's expressions specifically are just perfect. Love this book!
