About Case Closed The Darkest Nightmare Blu-ray

Case Closed: The Darkest Nightmare is an anime film directed by Kobun Shizuno.

A mysterious car accident leaves Detective Conan and his Junior Detective League pals with a new friend: a striking woman with different-colored eyes and retrograde amnesia. While the kids hope their fellowship will restore the woman’s memory, Conan and his older crime-busting colleagues have darker suspicions about her background — suspicions stoked when a coterie of international double agents start being assassinated. As the glittering Touto Aquarium’s Ferris wheel spins, a showdown with the Black Organization’s deadliest killers beckons – but with even Conan in over his head, can Japan Public Security’s Amuro and FBI ace Akai set aside their differences long enough to stand with Conan, and against the nightmare?

The Darkest Nightmare is the twentieth movie in the venerable Detective Conan series. Based on Gosho Aoyama’s world-renowned manga series, these big-screen adventures chronicle the tales of Shinichi Kudo, teen detective extraordinaire. When Kudo becomes trapped in the body of a young boy, he must distance himself from his best girl, Ran Mori, and take on a new identity: that of Detective Conan Edogawa!

Best of the new releases so far

The Darkest Nightmare is my favorite so far from the recent Conan titles released from Discotek Media/TMS Entertainment USA. Stories with The Black Organization for me are always more interesting and entertaining whether they're canon or filler. I will also buy Sunflowers of Inferno and The Fist of Blue Sapphire when available on Blu-ray.

Great Movie!

One of my favorites, some people think Conan isn't involved enough i this movie and I can understand the critasizm but I find it somewhat refrashing so it really depends on what you like about DC movies, this one also has a lot of cool (but unrealistic) action scenes.

I'm so glad Discotek is releasing the newer movies now, I hope they release all of the ones funimation didn't get to, though one complaint is the subtitles are yellow with black outline and I've often had trouble reading subtitles in that color, for whatever reason it feels like they blend in way easier then white and black,

One of the Best Conan Films

by -

This is one of the best Detective Conan films released so far with the new TMS Entertainment/Bang Zoom dub cast. The plot, which involves the Black Organization, the FBI, and Japan’s National Police Agency, is tight with great action sequences along with good character development. The dub, directed by Chris Cason (director of Re:Zero’s dubs), is excellent, with Allegra Clark, voicing the film’s featured character Curaçao, one of the dub’s standouts.

One of The Better Recent Releases

This was a fun one from start to finish. Lots of screen time is given to the organization members, the story was entertaining, and there was a nice reference to one of the earlier Case Closed stories.

The only complaints I had were that one of the big plot points wasn't explained well, and that one of the bigger action scenes broke my suspension of disbelief. Both of these things happen at the end of the movie which was a bummer, but it's not enough for me to dislike the movie.
