Adorable as always, but also sad
by Kastie -
Volume 8 is packed with action and sorrowful backstory that continues to fill in Akiho's life and her existence as Sakura's friend. The broad strength of Sakura's magic is on display in several events and we get to see a bit more of her mother. Clamp manages to work in some cutesy scenes, especially where they stick one of Sakura's cards in a few awkward situations, but the overall tone is more serious and sadder than usual.
