About Canis Dear Mr. Rain Manga

Canis: Dear Mr. Rain Manga features story and art by ZAKK.

Hat maker Satoru finds Ryou passed out on street and is then embroiled in an international crime drama.

Business is tough at men's haberdashery Dante. A big sale is coming, and they are extremely understaffed. So after getting chewed out by his staff a broken Satoru heads home to find a stray napping in the rain. Ryou isn't your standard American longhair, though. He is a mysterious nineteen-year-old with charisma, good looks and an air of someone with a past, despite their age. After a meal, a nap and a shower Ryou was ready to model for Satoru. But their contract was for just one day. And the reason why Ryou had to go was he had a meeting with the mafia.

Refreshing Art-Style

by -

I bought this volume on a whim because the art intrigued me, and it did not disappoint. The art-style reminds me more of caricature than manga style, but it is refreshingly different. The volume itself comes with a slip cover and the paper has a nice weight to it- it is much denser than normal manga.

As for the story, it's quite charming and mostly avoids a lot of the stereotypical boys' love tropes. The story takes its time and it did drag a bit in the middle, but there is an intriguing setup for the next book. Please note that there is no explicit content in this volume.

I am excited to read the next book and am certainly hoping that the series continues to be released in the West. If you're looking for a more mature slow-burn romance story, this is worth checking out.

Just stunning.

I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that this book has some of the best art of any yaoi ever. If nothing else, it's certainly among the best I've ever seen in the genre. The thick, bold lines make everything pop, from the most detailed character portraits to the most stylized offshoots. Combine this with some amazing character designs and wonderfully emotive panels, and you get a manga that's a true feast for the eyes.

Lest one think it's all style, however, the story is just as beautiful. In equal turns sad, joyous, and mysterious, it sinks its hooks in early and doesn't let go. While the romance is just beginning to bud in this volume, the dynamic between the two leads is nevertheless captivating. I cannot wait for the next volume, which I can only hope is coming soon.

Beautiful and heartwarming!

Bought this manga because of the beautiful cover and it did not disappoint! The packaging of the manga goes beyond the cover; it has a dust jacket and the pages are a thicker matte material in comparison to other mangas I own!

The art style and overall flow of the story is nicely done. Love how the expressions are drawn for the characters and I can’t wait to get the future volumes!

Unique ♡

I bought this because of the cover, & to my surprise the quality of this book is unmatched in regular BL publishing, or tbh any publishing unless it's some special limited edition.

Everything KUMA does is superb !! The style of this mangaka is most definitely unique & I've not read a BL like this at all. It's an ever so slightly slower paced story, but it really keeps you wondering what's going to happen next, especially with the mystery of the 2nd leads background & how he came about Japan.
There's definitely an interest between the 2 ML's yet nothing reeeeally happens between them besides some tension & some feeling which I think is rather refreshing, especially since usually BL that doesn't have the characters ripping their clothes off are usually fluff, and this is far from it.

It's a more serious, cool, & a really neat story in which I'm actually super looking forward to reading vol.2! (Not to mention, both guys are babes lol)

A decent mystery

This story is fine but the plot meanders and is a bit of a mess. The art is good and I think Kuma prints really good quality manga but my issue is with the stiffer spine and the heavier glossier paper it made it harder for me to hold it very long with how compact it is
