About CITY Manga Volume 1

CITY manga features story and art by Keiichi Arawi the creator of Nichijou.

In volume 1, Midori is in a bit of a bind. She is in debt, and her landlady is trying to shake her down for unpaid rent. Her best friend refuses to loan her cash since she’s wised up to her tricks.

Maybe some bullying would help. Or a bit of petty theft? Neither is sustainable. Maybe getting a job would settle things…But working means less time for fun adventures in the big city…

Absolutely Great!~

City was easily amazing and hilarious~ I had several points where I laughed aloud while reading it. Compared to Nichijou, City seems to have an actual main character to follow with a more progressive story for lack of better way to explain it.
Keiichi's humor and insanity is clearly present everywhere as usual though as you learn on the very first pages. All in all a great manga if you want something weird and funny.

arawii is at it again.

this volume feels like nichijou but slightly less random: the former is most definetly a good thing but the latter is up to the reader to decide.

personally i was laughing the whole way through and enjoyed every moment that i spent with the novel, cant wait to read volume 2

Fun Read!

City was definitely a hilarious read and one I really enjoyed. If you’re a fan of nichijou, I’d definitely recommend picking this one up since they’re senses of humor are very similar. Can’t say enough good things about this one! City is definitely a great time!

College version of Nichijou

by -

As others have noted, City is by the same author as Nichijou. It maintains the same wacky and absurdist humor, but in more of a college/young adult setting (rather than Nichijou's high school setting). If you liked Nichijou (I did), you'll like City.
Some things to note: Both Nichijou and City are published by Vertical. If you're comparing them on the shelf, the City volumes are larger. City stands at 7.5 inches tall vs 7 inches for Nichijou). I prefer the bigger size, so that's a plus to me at least.
