Daikichi, a 30-year-old bachelor, is surprised to meet a 6-year-old, Rin, at his grandfather Souichi's funeral. He and his family are even more surprised to learn that Rin is Souichi's daughter. When the topic of who will care for her comes up, the family shirks all responsibility of raising this "shameful" child.
In an emotional outburst, Daikichi declares his intention to take Rin into his home. This is the story of two very different individuals coming together under one roof and learning what it means to be a family, an experience that teaches Daikichi what it means to be a parent.

Ratings & Reviews
Based on the first 4 volumes of Yumi Unita's Manga of the same name this is the story of a 30 year old single worker who 'adopts' a young girl after a death in the family. It is the story of the changes that decision makes to both their lives and to their relationship through normal events such was preschool, elementary school, illness and new friends. If you like a story based a on character and life circumstances rather than action this is for you. Overall DELIGHTFUL.
Great Anime! Don't bother with the manga Yuck!
A MUST HAVE for any anime collector! BUT! Don't bother with the Manga after the first four or five volumes the story jumps ahead 10 years and turns to JUNK!
Watch the anime, then get the manga for a more in depth experience. Highly recommended.
I loved the anime. It detailed the challenges of being a single male employed parent and learning to deal with a child who had already grown to be independent and think for herself. Also the difficulties of being a male and dealing with a female child. (If you have never been a dad, try thinking about the things you would have to do.) Unlike another reviewer, I highly recommend reading the manga, because it moves into the challenges of having a young woman as your responsibility and who has awakened to her status as a woman and not a little girl.
Only The Anime

I recommend this anime to anyone who enjoys a heartwarming story. Bunny Drop always brings a smile to my day showing the love between Rin and her caretaker Daikichi. The story of the two characters is a joy to watch as they learn to live as a family despite nether knowing what to do.
I must emphasize that I do know the outcome of the manga and I would not suggest that to most people.
A heartwarming story

Bunny Drop is an incredibly cute and relatable anime specially if you're a parent (I'm still single lol). This show highlights family values, and the difficulties of raising children. Every episode is full of meaning with real life situations.
There are several interesting details when the series develops each character.
Bunny Drop is distributed by NIS America, the case is a standard DVD case with both DVD and Bluray formats, an episode guide and it comes in japanese with english subtitles.

A beautiful, heartwarming story. 10/10.
It's not like more recent anime where the 'moe' aspects are cranked way up. The characters feel human. It's refreshing!
The bluray release is gorgeous. A bit barebones - you can pick episodes by number, or turn the subs on or off, that's it. But that's all you really need.
Worth watching and reading
The animated story is great and the main characters Daikichi and Rin are interesting. Though the animation goes so far it does not show the complete story. I would recommend watching the anime then reading the manga if you don't want to spoil the ending. Otherwise read the manga then watch the series.
