Great story & beautiful artwork

this manga series is beautiful from the start. It's a well researched, beautifully drawn, & realistic portrayal of life in early 1800's Asia. The detail in the landscapes & outfits alone are worth reading this. The relationship that builds between the characters feels really grounded & develops over time. I definitely recommend the entire series!

A Rare Gem

by -

I felt very fortunate to run across this manga. It's beautifully illustrated and draws you into a world of horses and desert sand. In a nineteenth-century village along the Silk Road, I found myself in rooms of tapestries, rugs, and heavily embroidered garments. I learned about the heritage and customs of people long ago and far away and the lush accounts of their daily lives - baking bread and shooting arrows. History wraps itself around a sweet love story much like the colorful jacket entombs the ink-scented pages of this gorgeous hardback book. It's a must-have for collectors. Take the journey and add it to your shelf.
