Serious themes, happy ending

by -

I was so sad to learn that the mangaka has passed away, since this manga really touched my heart. This is, technically speaking, a romance, but the main theme of the story is to explore issues of identity, and in my opinion the topics were handled beautifully. I think anyone going in should be warned that this manga deals with some heavy stuff and there is one particular scene that was very, very hard to read, and so I would encourage everyone to look up potential trigger warnings before reading it. However, I think the darker parts are treated very respectfully, and they are balanced well with more lighthearted scenes. The overall theme of the story is uplifting, and there were several scenes that made me laugh out loud. The characters were all so loveable and it was impressive how the author made me feel attached to them in such a short time. The art is also gorgeous and captures the character's emotions well.

A good read

I was waiting a long time for this book to come out and man it was worth the wait. staring off with the art it had such beautiful art. It had symbolism within the art as well which I really enjoyed. now the story went beyond my expectations it really grabbed my attention from chapter one. I finished this book all in one sitting one thing I would say out of caution is that this book does carrier some really heavy topics leaving some parts hard to read but overall this book is worth the read.

sweet, but heavy

by -

Overall I really enjoyed this story and the way the relationship between the characters evolved. I think a lot of the gender/sexuality depictions were really realistic. There is a SA scene that was really hard to read, however, and I don't think it had to be as graphic as it was. (Implied could have been enough...) Still a good read if you can handle that scene. It's a shame the author died so young, they have a voice I would have loved to hear more from.

Definitely worth getting

A good oneshot manga in which the main character likes and wants to find out more about a character that is struggling with his identity. It is worth buying but sadly there will not be a second book.

A True Yaoi Gem with a Dark Past

by -

I am a fujoshi who reads a lot of yaoi, so much manga. I will start by critiquing the book itself, it has a beautiful color cover, nice use of negative space and color and such a stand out spine! There is even color decorations on the inside covers! 9/10. The artwork can be rough on unimportant parts, think shadows and backgrounds, but is clean and pleasing for faces and emotional scenes. I love the folds in clothes and accurate anatomies. There are several beautiful moments that are well portrayed 9/10. Pacing is what you would expect from a drama, linger on the emotions, 8.5/10, story is deep and there are occasional gags that lighten the heavy feelings, it is well balanced 8.5/10. Now the characters are sublime! They feel almost caricatures of people, but it works as their characters develop and change in the story as they and their feelings grow, side characters are amazing. 9/10. Bonus points for crying blushing boys! +3, I am 91% satisfied

Emotionally Beautiful Story

I loved this story do be warned it contains some heavy topics but overall the story manages to be emotional and draw readers in. The main characters both have their own set of problems and the story manages to be comedic while also telling an emotional story.
