What a phenomenal followup to an excellent predecessor. Bangin' sound design as always is what generally sells me the most on a show, mixed with striking visuals and a haunting narrative. Something you just can't put your finger on.

Not a sequel, not quite a prequel

Although characters share names with some from Boogiepop Phantom, the character design is very different. The action seems to take place before "Phantom," but honestly, this is more like an alternate reality, and would be best enjoyed by not trying too hard to make the tales match up. More dark fantasy than horror.
