A fun rom-com
by Alex
This was a very fun read. It is kinda generic but overall it was a really funny rom-com with a good hook and great characters. Can’t wait to read the other volumes!
Romeo and Juliet with anime tropes

Great rom-com starring a couple whose love is challenged by their home nations at odds. The overall art of the manga is very nice and all the characters are likable in their own ways.
What if Romeo and Juliet was a Romantic COMEDY Rather Than a Romantic TRAGEDY?
by Steve -
If you, like me, were a theatre kid in high school, you might've been skeptical about Shakespeare's most famous, least understood tragedy being adapted to manga, but fear not.
Mostly it works because it's not a 1:1 adaptation, and doesn't take itself too seriously. Basically the only things it takes from the Bard are the names Romeo and Juliet and the star-crossed lovers angle, and the odd subtle reference here and there (Tybalt, the Prince of Cats and Juliet's cousin is cleverly replaced by cat-themed Princess Char, Juliet's childhood friend from back home). This isn't fair Verona, and rather than two noble families at odds with each other, the conflict is scaled up to two countries (loosely based on Japan and Italy) with centuries of bad blood between them, and zooms in on how that conflict affects the students at a boarding school that hosts both nations.
There's no shortage of eye-rolling anime tropes, but the central romance is endearing enough to make it worth the read.
