About Blue Spring Ride Blu-ray

This Blue Spring Ride collection contains episodes 1-12.

Can you change who you are inside? In middle school, Futaba's shy nature and cute appearance attracted boys, but made other girls so jealous that she became a social outcast. So, when high school began, Futaba remade herself, becoming sloppy and pretending to be unfeminine... and now she has friends! But her new world comes crashing down when she runs into a boy she used to know: Kou. The one boy who could have become more than just a friend.

Except Kou's changed as well. So much so that she barely recognizes him. And while the attraction that she used to feel seems to still be there in her heart, he doesn't seem to feel the same way anymore. Or does he? Is the difference in the way Kou's acting due to how different she's ostensibly become? Or have they both changed too much to ever recapture what they had?

Special Features: Clean Opening and Closing.

Even guys will appreciate this

I used to dislike shojo a lot. It wasn't until I came across this and Kamisama Kiss that I realized that there were still good ones. This show deals with some heavy topics like death of a loved one and what happens when your grief consumes you. The anime is not sappy, but rather bittersweet as two people work through difficult pasts that affect their lives even now. Even if you don't watch shojo, please make this one an exception. It hits all the right things and leaves powerful messages. The animation is good, the voice acting is great and the art style is gorgeous. Truly worth the watch. Please give it a chance.

This is a great series all around good characters, story, and animation is on point. No matter your age or gender this will be a great watch for anyone especially if you like comedy, romance, and drama.

Yes Mary... Even Guys Will Appreciate This

I'm a guy and I loved this. I'm usually not a sucker for sentiment, but this show really got its hooks in me and I had to buy it. It's your standard Sentai Filmworks release but their quality is ever increasing. No english dub here, which can be a bummer for a lot of people but it's still worth owning. The usual clean opening and closing are nothing new extras wise. The Blu-ray quality really works well with the animation in this series. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because the release is fairly bare bones coupled with the shows sparse shoujo clichés that may turn some people off by the end of the series.

One of the better shoujo romance anime out there

by -

I'd put this series up there among the better romance anime I've seen, but for me the strongest element was the protagonist. She has to struggle with the dilemma of either conforming, or risk isolation, and makes choices requiring the kind of courage i could only wish i had back when i was in school. Seeing her acquire a group of friends that honestly care about her was heartening and sweet.

Less appealing was the male lead; it's explained WHY he's a surly jerkwad all the time, but that doesn't excuse it. The anime did a good job building up to his first steps as a better person, but in that respect this feels like chapter 1 of a longer story.

Still recommended; a solid show with good writing and production
