Something really special

by -

Bloom Into You is a yuri story in the mold of Aoi Hana or Sasameki Koto. The relationships feel real and the characters are deep. I'm absolutely loving the interplay between the two characters and am excited to see some of the secondary characters flesh out as the story unfolds. Highly recommend!

Unique take on a yuri storyline

by -

As suggested by the mangaka of this series, this isn't really your typical yuri. It looks to be so at first, but once you dive deeper, there's incredible meaning and bouts of thought provoking scenes in this series. The idea of romance seems so common place in today's society that those who don't feel the 'normal' sort of feelings displayed in media and pop culture can feel incredibly isolated and lonely. Yuu does not feel like her friends or sister, or even her new senpai, yet finds a way to struggle through this and try to find her own version of happiness. I'm incredibly interested in where this manga goes and so far I'm very impressed with the unique character dynamic between the main duo as well as the art.

It’s not bad but fast paced for me

by -

For me it’s kinda fast paced, I’ve read post about this being similar to citrus which is my favorite series of all time but I don’t see the resemblance being that strong. It’s a unique take on a yuri because you don’t have your typical “I can stop thinking about kissing them” attitude (at least not in vol 1). The tone of the characters is the short shy girl not having feelings back for the tall academically smart girl who doesn’t mind the feelings not being returned. I don’t know how well I explained it but it’s refreshing to see toned down love, I find it to be more realistic.

I love every page

I fell in love with the characters of Yuu and Touko when I watched the anime of this story. This is the first manga I've ever bought for myself, and it was the first time I ever sat to read one closely. I enjoyed every page and I'm excited to tear through the rest of the volumes and see how their story ends.

A great read

Worth getting for sure :) a unique and incredible yuri romance that treats itself like an actual romance.

Favorite anime of all time. Imo the best part of the story is definitely the character development. Student council pres, Touko, is very problematic and manipulates Yuu, a girl who was thought to be aromantic, into accepting a one-sided love. It's very unique and shows a great journey to a HEALTHY relationship!!

A Relationship-Focused Manga for Everyone

by -

Bloom into You is such a masterfully drawn manga, with great composition and framing, laced with little visual metaphors all the way through.

I think this book is a wonderful introduction to LGBT storylines for those who want to gain understanding of that viewpoint without jumping into the deep end. And truthfully, everything you learn about their relationship you will find applying to your own, including how you relate to your own self. Highly recommended.

Interesting premise for a slow burn

Can agree with some other opinions I've read that at times the story feels a little rushed with Nanami's actions, but overall I think Yuu's response in these cases is realistic enough and the writing as a whole is really fantastic and well done. The art and page layouts are also just beautiful, and some really striking images like Yuu's desk metaphorically being across the class room were really interesting to me. There was definitely a "hook" moment with Nanami's gift that's made me excited to root for these two!
