About Blade & Soul DVD

This Blade & Soul collection contains episodes 1-13.

Trained since birth as the Clan of the Sword's ultimate assassin, Alka has lived her entire life as a nearly emotionless human killing machine. Now, however, her Clan has been destroyed, her master murdered, and the Code she lives by leaves Alka just one final mission: to seek out those responsible and exterminate them. If that means taking on the impossible might of the Param Empire, and the demonic powers of their battle leader Jin Varrel, then so be it.

But while Alka may be the hunter, she has also become the hunted. With a price on her head, she must evade or kill the bounty hunters intent on collecting her skin, and in the bloody shadow-world of assassins, that means there's no one she can trust.

If you like fan service this is definitely up your alley, though if you're basing your judgement off the game with this then you might be a little disappointed.

Interesting fantasy story

At times almost playful and others eerie, this is a well executed anime that draws on a developed world and background presumably based on the game. Never having seen or heard of the game before watching I cannot comment on what relation they have to one another, but this title stands on its own. It uses a largish cast of characters who affect and are affected by the story. While not as deep and philosophical as some titles it gains and holds interest with the unfolding story. Not only are the characters interesting, but also the situations they find themselves in. So while there are no major plot twists or turns it is the story that pulls the viewer in.
