Blade & Soul Blu-ray
About Blade & Soul Blu-ray
This Blade & Soul collection contains episodes 1-13.
Trained since birth as the Clan of the Sword's ultimate assassin, Alka has lived her entire life as a nearly emotionless human killing machine. Now, however, her Clan has been destroyed, her master murdered, and the Code she lives by leaves Alka just one final mission: to seek out those responsible and exterminate them. If that means taking on the impossible might of the Param Empire, and the demonic powers of their battle leader Jin Varrel, then so be it.
But while Alka may be the hunter, she has also become the hunted. With a price on her head, she must evade or kill the bounty hunters intent on collecting her skin, and in the bloody shadow-world of assassins, that means there's no one she can trust.

Ratings & Reviews
So much promise. . . so much wasted promise
I remember watching the first episode of this when it aired and being blown away. I was like wow, this girl is amazing! The series did not waste its time with a lot of excessive fanservice either. I mean, I do not mind fanservice at all, but some shows just really go overboard. The problem is that Blade & Soul was primarily developed to promote the MMORPG of the same name. As an MMO, there are no "main characters" and Alka reflects that all too well. While we learn about her past there is really nothing done to develop her as a character and the story gets dull very quickly. Unless you have already seen this series and somehow are in love with it, I would not recommend chancing this one.
Contrary to the other review I thought this was a great series though short. I wouldn't say the fan service went over board either. The show has women with sizable breast but that's about it, compared to the stuff out now this is minimal. Also Alka's character is developed well. As the series progresses the change in Alka is evident but I don't wanna spoil it. The action is amazing as well and the story is great but the series is to short.
I found this series to be very suspenseful with great action. As the story progress you learn about Alka's past and see he develop as a human. The show does have fan service but it is very minimal compared to a lot of the anime we see nowadays. It has nice art and music but the series was to short. I wanted more after the series was over. I personally would consider Alka my favorite female anime character, she was very tough and a very skilled fighter.
~ Not the best but okay if you only enjoy the animation portion
I enjoyed this at the beginning but honestly, there wasn't really any character development for her. The story is a bit fast, I think if they wanted to make a good anime from this it'd have to be 24 episodes. The art was good and everything else was as well but just the plot and other things need some development.
