This Big Windup! Oofuri season 1 set contains episodes 1-26.
Most guys can't wait for baseball to start, but not Mihashi. For this kid, the crack of the bat is the sound of failure. Every summer he gets caught in a pickle between wanting to stay on the mound and watching his pitches get blasted out of the park. But each spring brings a fresh start, and this year, Mihashi's at a new school with teammates that don't know how bad he used to be. Most importantly, he's got Abe - a real superstar behind the plate. If Mihashi can learn to trust his new catcher, this could be the year he falls in love with the game all over again.

Ratings & Reviews
It is a very good anime. I was sucked in within two episodes! I found myself screaming at my tv, while I was watching. Very great anime!
High-tension game sequences and a great group of 'regular' guys
I just finished this anime and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm a bit surprised, since I am in no way a sports fan, but this very human story and exciting story has great appeal. The focus of the anime is the relationship between the pitcher and catcher, the talented but insecure Mihashi and the equally talented & a bit overbearing Abe. The rest of the team, however, including the intense coach, are well fleshed out within the course of the games. Only two games are shown, but they will have you on the edge of your seat - very tense and very exciting. I came away with much greater respect for ball-players after seeing the dynamic strategy and the tremendous effort involved. An excellent anime at an excellent price - pick it up!
Marvelous quality, an anime anyone can enjoy!
This DVD shipped to me quickly, and is in marvelous condition! It contains all 26 episodes of the first season at a very nice price. You don't have to be a fan of sports to enjoy this anime. The characters are enjoyable as well as is the basic plot; and the games are easy to follow even if you know nothing of baseball. You might end up learning something about the sport if you don't know anything :) At the root of the plot is characters striving as hard as they can to attain their goals in such a way that you'll end up rooting for them. The animation is a very nice quality, as is the music. The dub cast is as enjoyable as the original Japanese cast. The only downfall is that there's not any interesting extras on the DVD, and also it's disappointing that Funimation has not plans to dub the second season.
Overall, this is a definite must buy for fans of the series, and those usually not into this genre of anime can give it a shot and there's a high chance that they'll enjoy it as much as anything else.
Loved this show! Each of the characters were really well-defined, and you could empathize with their emotions throughout the episodes. The animation was top notch and the dub is really good too, although I prefer subtitles. Definitely recommend!
Lots of team bonding. Great character developments. Lots of sports feels! Well worth watching.
Outstanding Series - Must Have For All Anime Fans
I feel Asa Higuchi's award winning manga was beautifully portrayed in this series. The animation is gorgeous, smooth and exceptionally well done by A-1 Pictures - the same studio that animated Sword Art Online and Blue Exorcist. This series exhibits the same clean work and wonderfully dynamic motion as those other series but somehow doesn't get the same attention. I really cannot praise this anime enough and while Funimation did a very nice job with the English dubbing, they dropped the ball again and did not license the season 2.
The characters are portrayed with a depth and realness not often seen in anime, and at the same time the pacing of the story is neither slow nor uninteresting. The first season has a sense of conclusion that won’t have the viewer feeling let down or like something was missing.
Regardless of whether or not you like sports anime, I would still recommend this.

This series was my first sports anime all those years ago (the first of many ^^) and although it shares that same sports anime formula that all of the kind fall into by necessity, there's something here that sets it apart. This show dives a little deeper with it's character analysis, making each character so lovable and making you feel like every member of the team is necessary and plays a major role in the story. It can get really sappy at times, but that's what I love so much about it, it's unabashedly telling a coming of age story as well without all the masculine fronts of similar shows. These guys are still kids after all. I only wish the dub was continued as that's the version I fell in love with.
Great & Heartwarming

This is a wonderfully heartwarming series, and a very different kind of sports anime. Definitely more about human relationships than competition.
I have no complaints about the packaging or appearance of this set. It's good for its value.
Super cute fun anime

Saw a glimpse of this show from a sports amv. It's so cute!!! Voice actors for the twins in Ouran Host club make this even better. Some of the characters remind me of those from Haikyuu. Learned a lot about baseball too
