Sci-fi for some?

by -

Okay I've just got to air my grievances here, there is an arc in this book which takes up about half of the book where like in the summary Fate has to investigate the Vlerick family. That's all well and good but suddenly my fantasy novel has gone full sci-fi with programmed automatic doors, test chambers, computers, and all sorts of stuff... then when it's done just back to fantasy. Now I get that all that stuff is from the ancient technology that was lost or whatever but man did it just feel completely out of place for me.

With all that said the rest of the story was good and I enjoyed the ending quite a bit. If I had any questions though, with all the power levels in the e whatever you'd think that running around and cleaning would be easier? How is it that Fates only strong in battle? I don't know but if you've come this far then I guess we'll keep going together.
