Bamboo Blade DVD SAVE Edition
About Bamboo Blade DVD SAVE Edition
This Bamboo Blade complete series set contains episodes 1-26.
It didn't take long for pint-sized Tamaki's lightning reflexes to catch the eye of starving Kendo instructor Toraji. This second-rate sensei is an embarrassment to the sport, and his Kendo club is running out of members. His only hope for redemption - and a full belly - is to get Tamaki to sign on as his star pupil.
Unfortunately, this sword-wielding prodigy is a serious anime addict, so it'll be a challenge to get her to step away from the television and into the dojo. But once she feels like a part of the team, Tamaki will put down the remote and pick up her sword as Toraji turns his girls into a fearsome sisterhood of the bamboo blade!

Ratings & Reviews
Bamboo Blade - Imagine Azumanga Daioh, but on crack, and instead of the classroom, it's a high school kendo club.
When I first heard about this anime from a friend, I decided to buy it while it was on sale. It was definitely worth picking up, especially for a 26 episode series for under $20! The packaging surprised me as well; the anime is condensed onto 4 dvds that fit within a thin box that could easily be meant for just one. Aside from the dvds (episodes + limited extra features) and an episode list of each disc on the inside cover of box, that's about it for content.
As for the anime itself, I found myself thoroughly enjoying it! Bamboo Blade takes the concept of an anime about kendo and transforms it into a rich experience full of funny moments. Much like Azumanga Daioh's 'slice of life' style, the anime presents itself through the daily interactions of the characters and their time spent in the kendo club with each other. If you like Azumanga Daioh, you'll enjoy Bamboo Blade. I highly recommend this anime!
Great slice of life show. Fun characters. Overall it's just a fun show to watch.

This is my favorite anime...
It's a great slice of life anime with comedic aspects and depth of character. If you allow yourself to, you can become really connected to the characters and feel as if you actually know them. The storyline is not lacking and they finish up the series nicely in my opinion. Of course with every good anime you always wish there was more, but...
This anime is very funny. What may seem to be a normal Japanese TV show will surprising. This is chalk full of humor and It is well worth the money.
