Beautifully crafted, few spoilers for future of series.

by -

Fantastic visuals and beautiful adaptation of the beginning on the Monogatari story. The art captures the writing style of Nisio Isin, and portrays the series in a new light. For those who have read the light novels or watched the anime before, this is a fantastic read to re-immerse yourself into the world surrounding Koyomi Aragari.

For those who have never heard of the series however, I would highly recommend the light novel or anime first, as the manga seems to contain a few spoilers towards later parts of the series.

Not a good medium for the Monogatari series...

by -

They're finally making the Monogatari series into a manga which is awesome! I enjoyed the light novels and anime, so this was a must buy for me. My only issue is that I don't think that the manga format works that well for this series in particular. If you are thinking about getting into this series, I would recommend the anime or light novel as the manga isn't a good representation of what the series really has to offer. The manga, in my opinion, doesn't offer any better experience than the anime or light novel. Just not a good medium for it honestly. But if you are a serious collector or existing fan of the series, it may be nice to collect these.

Great interpretation of the light novel!

by -

A must have for any Monogatari fans! I thought it was an excellent interpretation of the light novels that even includes scenes that are neither in the anime or novel. They're all minor additions and I think they serve greatly to either emphasize the humor or the imagery of the monologue.

Even after reading the novels and watching the anime, I find myself really enjoying this manga rendition. I think all 3 mediums offer something different enough to be judged on their own and I'm glad the addition of the manga is executed with care. This easily has some of the cleanest art I've seen in a manga series.

I'll end this by saying Oshino is badass in the manga.
