Baccano Complete Series DVD Anime Classics
About Baccano Complete Series DVD Anime Classics
This Anime Classics Baccano! Complete Series collection contains episodes 1-16.
Don't let nobody tell you there's no future in a life of crime, because some rackets can last forever. But we'll get around to all that immortality jazz later. A mafia turf war is raging on the mean streets of the Big Apple, a place where regular joes bounce between backdoor booze joints and the breadline.
But this caper ain't about a simple gangland brawl. It's about hoods who can't seem to die proper after catching a bullet or five between the eyes. Sadistic hit-men and the dames they love, mad bombers going boom, monsters going bump and soul sucking alchemists bootlegging an elixir of eternal life.
Just remember, Baccano! ain't about beginnings and ends. It's about the twists and turns, bub. Paths don't cross in this story - they collide. Every Dick and Jane plays the lead and it's gonna be a bumpy ride.

Ratings & Reviews
Baccano is everything a show should be
Baccano! is so amazing a show it should speak for itself, excellent plot twists, well choreographed action, superb dialogue and character development, well place humor and wit, and even a triple dose of romance. Being as the anime is fantastic and does not require my praise I will speak more about the case, though I'd like to mention that while I prefer sub for many shows, the dub is just correct with Baccano! The case is pretty, it isnt anything special in terms of durability, the cover is flimsy and the case is thin, but it is aesthetically pleasing, it can fit perfectly into any collection. The case is beautiful and the show is a must see, buy it already.
This anime is seriously one of the best I have ever seen in my life, the characters, the setting, the plot are all masterfully done and it's easy to watch this anime again and again. However it does have some gore in it so some people may not like that but other than that the only flaw that this anime has is that it's too short. I reccomend it to any anime fan. ^-^
Not as popular as it should be
Few people know of Baccano! from my experience which is a shame as it is amazing. It jumps around the plots timeline which makes it impressive that the story came out so cohesive. There are so many characters in a short series that you do not get to know them all to the level you want but that is probably the only issue in the show. It is one of my favorites and deserves a watch by anyone who can handle some blood and can handle unraveling the non-linear story.
Baccano is a master at story as it changes point of view to many different characters and many different time periods yet it still makes perfect sense. The cast is huge but you get to know most fairly well by the end. It has its main focus on a train with a 3 way battle occurring on it. There is just so much and it is so complex with the non-linear story it is a must watch. It has story, it has gore, the Mafia, immortals and assassins.
One of the best shows and one of the best entertainment per dollar anime I have seen.
A Strong Title I Was Lucky to Get
by Devin -
Baccano stands out in the sea of anime that people consume due to many reasons, some highlights of those reasons being a quality dub that captures the spirit of the 1930s with the cast following through the entire series with accents pulled straight out of classic gangster films along with being an entertaining story in general, albeit incomplete (though with the release of the Light Novel by Yen Press, this will become less of an issue).
The product itself was good, but had a couple of flaws. The issue comes from the fact that my particular copy has the inner case (the one holding the disks) being warped and pressing the disks together. Since the actual disks are still fine, this stands as a minor issue
Just the Right Kind of Complex
Generally speaking, I try to avoid gangsters in anime. Japan does yakuza well, from experience, but there's always something bland about the depiction of organized crime in the Americas. I couldn't even guess why.
Not so with Baccano! The characters are well-realized personalities, with only the comedic "chorus" being too much in the way of caricatures, and their individual storylines are threaded together with effortless skill. The supernatural ends up playing as important a part as the mob, but the weight just feels right. Everyone with whom I've watched it has been leery at the beginning and in love at the end. It's a strong recommend from me.
My Favorite Anime - Great for Tarantino Fans
Baccano is my favorite Anime due to its fantastic characters and interestingly executed plotline. If you love the style of Quentin Tarantino films, there is a high probability that you'll like Baccano, considering it has a plot that executes out of order (in a good way) and is quite violent (also in a... well not "good" per se but it fits the story perfectly) and full of energy.
The best thing about the show are the characters, which are all great in their own unique ways. Even the really bad guys are enjoyable to watch, and I wound up loving to hate them.
The really unfortunate thing about Baccano at this point is the fact that it was produced by Aniplex, so the DVD and Blu Ray sets are out of print at this point. It's a shame really, because that's only going to make the Anime more obscure in the long run. If you can get your hands on a copy for under $50, I'd definitely say grab it as quickly as you can.
