Good (mostly) wholesome fun

by

Great fun, and manga Chiyo-chan is almost cuter than anime Chiyo-chan. Plus you have Chiyo, Tomo, and Osaka working in a fast food joint - not in the anime. Funny stuff, and despite the presence of Kimura remarkably family friendly.

This is the epitome of slice of life comedy, and frankly is the standard by which the genre should be judged.

What are you doing with that knife?!?!

I love this series and highly recommend it! If you ever need a quick laugh, you can jump to any page and just read it, since most of this omnibus is in a newspaper style format.

But seriously, make sure to wake up before Osaka does.

One of My Favorites

by

I have read this book close to 10 times through now and i tell you, it never gets old. There's so much to it that every time you read it you still laugh and enjoy it. Now yes, some of the book is filler and some is much better, but the book as a whole is worth the read and worth the re-read!

The High School Memories You Wanted

by

I bought this anime on a whim years ago and I was not disappointed.
Trace the life of a group of friends through high school and enjoy the comedy that persists! The characters are deep and you reall do invest in their development.
If you enjoy funny, ridiculous high school stories you'll be pleased with this one.

It's Thicc

by

This story follows a few girls just being girls in high school. The art is good and all the characters are great and funny, with a few being a little over the top. This is a great fun story told in comic strips. It's fun to read and really good for a long trip or any long wait.

Great Slice Of Life Fun

by -

As I am writing this, I have received my copy of Azumanga Daioh a few days ago. From what I have read so far, I absolutely love it, though it is surely not for everyone. Do not expect exciting action, this is purely slice of life. (If you still aren't sure, look up some clips from the anime adaptation on YouTube to get an idea) Had to remove a star because when I received my copy, the cover was dirty.

Great single collection

Great way to have all the yon-koma in one place. Very large book but surprisingly light.

A Classic

Definitely a trailblazer of its time, but it's just like meeting up with an old friend. It's cozy, but hilarious all at the same time.

Fun, Cute, and Adorable Manga to read

by -

This is simple to read as each short story is basically an eight-panel presentation on several high school girl slice-of-life antics when a middle school prodigy with an IQ over 200 is moved up into their classroom. Not only are the high schoolers funny, but their homeroom teacher and PE teacher also adds to the fun as both teachers have an oft rivalry/friendship that always has the girls caught in the middle of their own antics.

The softcover manga is two inches thick, contains pages of 'Translation Notes', several color pages of the key characters, and even contains a couple of pages in full color of the manga. Overall, just a fun series of short stories on quirky yet innocent lovable characters at high school.

Highly recommended buy!
