Confusing plot, obvious commercial vehicle for SM Entertaiment

by

Partway through planning, this sort-of-sequel to mega-hit IRIS was taken over by Korean music company SM Entertainment. They are notorious for making some of the WORST TV dramas out there, and this one is no exception. It's chock-full of SM music stars like Choi Siwon, who is a competent actor, but also Shim Changmin of TVXQ, whose acting is beyond awkward and wooden, and BoA, whose presence adds nothing to the plot and seems to function mainly to make it look as if she's still relevant and popular in Japan. The acting by the main stars, all of whom are good normally, is sub-par in this series. The plot is convoluted and full of lots of holes and "are they complete idiots?!" moments. Skip this - it flopped in Korea - and just watch the real IRIS sequel instead. Even if you're an SM fan, it just makes your idols look like incompetent morons.
