Anime's Cornerstone

If this series seems primitive, unpolished, and too juvenile for you, remember that every TV anime series springs from Astro Boy's vapor trail. Every anime fan should watch at least some of Ozamu Tezuka's seminal series. Have fun tracing the earliest usage of anime tropes (like the sparklies' that shine around a beautiful Sphinx) and characters(like Jake Speed, a Speed Racer prototype).
Historical importance aside, it's fun to watch, and the English dub cast (in the style of Jay Ward's 'Rocky and Bullwinkle') pepper the dialogue with hilarious word-play and characterizations, making it fun for all-ages.
