The 2nd set completes the series I dreamed of owning!

If one feels that they don't want to own this piece of Anime history just because the 2nd set of Astro Boy Ultra Edition as well as the first set are in Black and White, think again about the fact that Dr. Tezuka did all of his Manga Comic Books in black and white, not in color.

The thing which puts this 2nd edition, along with the first set, miles ahead of even the color version of Astro Boy in the '80's are the incomparable voices talents of Billie Lou Watt, Ray Owens and Gilbert Mack, as well as the intelligent, witty, and all too often touching scripts/dubbing of Fred Ladd.

I did not realize until I bought both the first and second set of Astro Boy Ultra Editions that originally in the 60's the television station only aired the first 52 episodes and they were sliced to ribbons for commercials. Even as an adult I can readily enjoy this piece of Anime history.

This show was as much fun as it was when I was a kid

Story, packing and excitement, all from a little robot who taught the world about heart.

The show was fun when I was young, and as an adult, the show is still fun. The art and story do not disappoint!

I wish that NBC would have bought the entire series not just 104 episodes. the series is great, filled with wholesome and family friendly stories to entertain children of all ages. I really enjoyed watching the origanal series for the first and I'm proud to have it in my collection.
