Aria continues to be one of the best anime series around!

Animation, story, characters and music are all outstanding and the second season delves deeper into the richly detailed world of Neo-Venezia.

As with the first season, 'Aria: The Natural' is a slice-of-life series. Nothing major happens in any given episode and the series moves at a relaxed pace, but at the same time you get drawn into the world of Aria and come to care about the characters that populate this world.

The animation is both well-drawn and beautifully fluid, each episode is expertly written and the music complements the anime perfectly.

The songs are truly great, from the opening and closing themes to the songs sung by some of the characters. Makes me wish for an Aria Vocal CD to be released in the US (please, Nozomi!).

The anime is faithful to the manga, but you do not need to have read the manga to follow the story. I cannot recommend Aria high enough. See it for yourself!

This review will cover part 2 as well.

It's unfortunate I can't give the second volume of the Aria trio a perfect score, but the reality is the artwork takes a significant nose dive when compared to the first and third volumes. Distorted faces stand out so blatantly it's impossible to ignore, and shortcuts were definitely taken as many scenes are choppy rather than fluid.

Unlike the other two volumes, this one contains 26 episodes in 2 part sets, which is most likely the reason for the drop in animation quality.

Thankfully, the stories remain masterpiece quality and make up for the drop in animation. This show is highly recommended for family viewing.
