Peaceful but interesting

Got this on kickstarter just based on the limited information. I wasn't sure how much I would like it, but it has been good not just for myself but the whole family. It can be difficult for a show to remain engaging if nothing ever really happens. Some play everything for laughs, but while there is plenty of humor this isn't a gag show. It has a slow, placid pace and is just kinda pleasant to watch.

An anime that is a slice of life that is more than a slice of life.

I bought this when it first came out on DVD. It is full of characters that are growing up, learning to be gondoliers, and learning to deal with the first time experiences of life and love. It is a slice of life, yes, but it is also a slice of life with the inspiration of a little magic both magical and the magic of location and scenery. It is exquisitely drawn and beautifully colored. If you pass this up you will be missing a wonderful experience.

Let's share a wonderful moment together!

After watching just a few episodes I was hooked, and immediately purchased the other two season Blu-rays. Watching this, you can't help but fall in love with Akari's honest, gentle spirit. Veronica Taylor effortlessly portrays her earnest emotions in the English dub. The rest of the dub cast was excellent as well. This show was such a great one to find in the midst of the pandemic. Nozomi and RS did a fantastic job improving the video quality of the release, looking at the comparisons to the Japanese BDs. Whether you watch the show subbed or with the new dub, let the calm waves of Aqua embrace you and wash your worries away! Oh, whoops I forgot, no sappy lines allowed...
